Title: DIY?
Post by: Queen Victoria on September 18, 2011, 06:56:27 PM
If anyone is interested in doing things that are low tech, I found The Village Technology Handbook.  It was put out by the US gov't to assist villages in improving their lives with the available resources.  Some of the technologies include the chain and washer pump, the evaporative food cooler and the hay box cooker.

The sections are:
Water
Health and Sanitation
Agriculture
Food Processing and Preservation
Construction
Home Improvements
Crafts and Village Industry
Communications.

It's 441 pages long and is slightly under 14 MB.

Here's the website:  http://www.fastonline.org/CD3WD_40/JF/410/02-64.pdf (http://www.fastonline.org/CD3WD_40/JF/410/02-64.pdf)
