Not sure on this, but I think your ability to edit your profile is limited, that's about it.  :nerd!:

Yup. That was the idea. It was basically the site owner's way to say that he is pissed enough to be a despot and do despot-y things. Make of that what you will. ;)

Anyway, this one is over and Soiledarse is the only member of that group now.

Or that you deserve it for choosing to treat the place with a lack of respect. (I know everyone else is to blame for their reaction to your inability to do exactly what you want)

Course if you DO believe you are "too cool for this place" there is an easy solution for hanging out with the aspies here, isn't there Bint. What do you think that might be?

Jesus won't you give it a fucking rest already?  You wonder why I say you're obsessed?  This is exactly the reason why.  I bet if I were to check your recent posts right now, most of them would be directed at either me, Soph or us both.  We all had an argument, yes.  We all apparently apologised.  We all apparently agreed on a truce.  Now is it really so hard for you to shut the fuck up?

By any means, I'm not telling you what or when to post but when you deliberately seek out our old posts to leave a snarky, incoherent comment or two it gets bloody tiring.

Now I know this will most probably trigger a longarse reply from you but this is all I'm going to say.  The argument is over so do us all a favour please and get over it   ::)

What does it mean when one is "sinbinned"?
it was a compromise.

in an effort to keep yhis place free we had to compromise on some of the content....originally.

nothing got deleted, just moved to a member only forum.

from what i am reading, there seems to be no more reason for a sin bin.

from what i am reading, there seems to be no more reason for a sin bin.

It proved usefull for what the BintySoph Borg Collective :borg: did to the site.

New topic after new topic of dog spam and threads about Sophs dog, dogs in general, dogs in the metaphysical sense, the philosophy of dogs, dog poop, dog language, dogs, dogs, dogs and more dogs.

It got old REAL fast.

Sinbinned just means you can't change your own profile and you are limited to what threads you can post in.

What are the specific restrictions on what threads a sinbinned member can post in? I gather that someone who has been sinbinned cannot make new threads. Is there a forum restriction, as well?

The restrictions have varied over time. Right now, I think a sinbinned member can't start new threads or edit his profile. There are fora that he can't access, too.

The permissions have varied depending on what the specific threats have been.  If the threat was to continue posting pet picture spam after agreeing to stop, the permissions would have been more liberal and the duration of membership in the SINBINNED member group would have been shorter than if the threat was to post child porn.  As it stands now, SINBINNED members can start their own topics in the My Way or the Highway forum, in Dunc's Sin Bin, in Bug Reports, and in the Main Event, none of which are viewable by guests.

Is there any restriction on sinbinned members viewing existing topics, not considering the ability to post to those topics?

This is a little complicated to answer, but I don't think that there is currently any restriction on the SINBINNED membergroup denying reading any of the previously accessible fora.

If the SINBINNED member was previously a member of some special group granting special access to specific fora, such as for example if it became necessary to SINBIN an administrator, then by changing the membergroup to SINBINNED from Caretaker Admin, for example, the access to see fora a regular member could not see might be taken away, but permissions can always be modified depending on the specific circumstances.

I think the sinbin restrictions are a bit too lax. They should be restricted to posting in My way or the Highway, and Duncs sin bin.  :police:

I think that's a reasonable point, considering the specific circumstances.

The Elders forum would be taken away, probably. There are no current restrictions but that is because there is no need. The sinbinned member in question does not have access to the Elders forum in any case.
