Title: A modest proposal.
Post by: RageBeoulve on April 30, 2013, 09:35:46 AM
It should be quite obvious that society is way out of balance. Most people that I speak with about it are not willing to listen to any plans of fixing it, because they are like beasts in a zoo. They can't tell its really a cage, as it resembles their environment. They are reasonably comfortable being a slave.

I propose changing this. I will begin voting on any and all laws and bills that limit American freedoms. In this way, one can "shrink" the disgusting cages we are kept in, so the fact that we are a "kept" people eventually becomes impossible to ignore.

Any thoughts?

Rage, society has never been in balance.  And it never will be.

"I will begin voting on any and all laws and bills that limit American freedoms."

That's going to be tough.  Laws and bills aren't usually voted on by the populace.  You might be able to amend a charter (grant or take away provisions that are the framework the officials operate under, e.g. term limits) on a local level, but your personal input on state and federal matters will be limited to voicing your opinion to your representative.

Some things that limit American freedoms are necessary to have other American freedoms.  Freedom of speech doesn't include yelling "fire" in a movie theater. One man's freedom is another man's shackles.  Are you willing to sit quietly and listen to someone express a point of view that you don't agree with, waiting for your turn to express your view.  Or do you interrupt, argue, stomp off?  You're curtailing his freedom of speech.

Rage, I understand what you're saying, it's just not a cut and dried as you propose.

Actually I do wait for someone to express themselves, as long as they aren't trying to stop others from doing the same. Otherwise I will punch them in the throat.

And I voice my opinion to my representative often.  :zoinks:

i completely agree with you. IMF I'm reading you correct.

If you really want change. It has to get worse before it gets better.  The masses have got to hit Rick bottom, as they say.

Income inequality is the real thing that I think people sense and feel.

The freedom thing is a scam.  The biggest trick ever played wS our constitution giving us "liberties".  How many are real?

I suggest that everybody vote anti incumbent.  Or pray that one party takes over a super majority for a decade or more.
Life is like a pendulum.  Always swinging back and forth to keep balance.  Let it swing too far in one direction then there will. Be. Self correction the other way.  I say vote democrat.  Those conservative nutters are more likely to take up arms and march on Washington.

I like your thinking.

It may motivate the people to overthrow their masters.

I told my girlfriend and she said I was crazy. Thanks fellas.

Course I said something like, "Retarded willing slaves don't deserve to feel comfortable." or something. But she knew what I meant.

one thing I have learned in my sweet short life is that women tend to want security, men are more likely to take risks.

Ask her to make some sandwiches for the revolution.  Tell her, "you got this!"   :lol1:

Women always love to be told to go make sandwiches.
