Title: When you see a wet floor sign in front of the restroom
Post by: Natalia Evans on October 06, 2009, 05:23:21 PM
I thought it meant the floor is wet so use caution when walking in there.

Restrooms are what we call public toilets in the USA. I am not sure what Australia calls theirs or other countries. I know Canada calls theirs the washroom and the UK calls theirs the toilets.

Maybe it means that if you slip and fall on your ass, then the sign helps protect us from getting our asses sued.

It makes it sound as if it is ok to go in there and have a nap.

Make sense to me, some people sleep together in them.

Sometime when I was working I'd go to the toilet to take a 5 min break.

Sometimes I sit in the uni toilets to avoid a meltdown but I have never thought of that as having a rest!

In Sweden we have real restrooms in some working places and in many universities. Someone feeling bad can ask the caretaker to lock up the restroom and they can go in there and lie down on a bed or sofa for half an hour or so.

We had a sort of fainting couch in the ladies' room at the university, but it was the only one like that I have seen.  Sometimes, ladies' rooms have a sort of sitting area just outside with comfortable upholstered chairs where mothers can nurse their infants, though.

doing baby stuff is ok but here women spend a lot of time in toilets even when they don't have babies. they go in with their friends and talk for ages.

We call them prayer rooms in this country.

The only place I usually see those areas outside of ladies' rooms is in department stores.

Well, it'd be apt for what happened to Elvis, given the size of the turd he tried to push.
