Not really. We did it over a campfire. Cut a chunk of meat into thin slices, brushed them with a mix of I think honey and soy sauce, speared them along a couple of sticks, and then suspended them over the fire in such a way that the smoke was blowing right over them, but they weren't close enough to the heat to actually get cooked. I think it was about three hours we let them sit for.

Ask him in some part of the forum he actually reads. He can probably give you better instructions than I can.

Love the stuff. Especially the peppered stuff.

My dad used to do it in the oven with deer, tried using a dehydrator but it never came out as good for us.

When I was still working on the fort, one of the SSGs kept a ziplock baggie of venison jerky in his pocket at all times. He was sometimes nice enough to share.

It has been years since I made any - in fact I haven't been hunting for deer in way too long. It's toto late this season, though. Everyone I know has used all their stickers, but no one has brought any meat by.

:bigcry:

I should probably get out more.

maybe next season.

My brother hunts deer and he's teaching his twelve year old son to hunt as well.

My nephew killed two deer on his grandfather's land this season.

I don't think that they make venison jerky, though.  My brother had to buy a freezer to store the meat.

I wish I'd been taught hunting as a twelve year old.  :( We just went to grandpa and shot at his yard a few times, but he was pennywise, so we usually just shot with the .22 rifle and just a few times with the shotgun.

Love those things. None of my friends liked them back when I was younger so I never had to share.

I remember for awhile you couldn't find them anywhere around here...then walked into the store one day and they were back.

I'm not a big fan of vegemite, it's really just the sludge leftover from brewing beer. But I really liked the vegemite chocolate.

Vegemite meat pies, though, are even better.

Yes Al. There's food at pubs.

Yes MOSW there is food at some pubs. People go to the pub for many reasons:

1) Listen to music
2) catch up with friends
3) pub/counter meals
4) to play pool
5) get out of the weather
6) for the ambiance

However, pubs are primarily based around alcohol and drinking. These these all happen in inclusive of your meals.
Sure you COULD be addicted to a particular pub meal and only go in regularly to eat that with a glass of water. I doubt it.

As I say "Not saying this confirms it but does have me feeling a little validated"

At the supermarket at lunchtime I noted that they had emu jerky and crocodile jerky.

$7.50 per 50g though. That’s like $150 a kilo. Or nearly $70 a pound. I can’t imagine it’s good enough to justify those prices.

Don't mind alligator, but haven't ever had a sausage I liked; some funky undertone about it. The last time we had some, cut a small piece to try it. Didn't like it so gave it to the dog. Dog dropped in on the ground and then pissed on it.

I like that Jack Link's beef jerky. Pretty expensive though.

Speaking of new addictions, however, I've switched to vaping for nicotine (over smoking cigarettes), and have developed it into a sort of obsession where I'm buying new vaporizers, and have an assortment of different flavored fluids - most of which have 3mgs of nicotine.

I've just moved on to Rebuildable Dripping Atomizers (RDA type vapes), since my SMOK Majesty vaporizer was stolen from me during a night out last Saturday. Same guy who sold me some coke too; let him use it, and he ran off with it when he was a way away from me; couldn't find the dude anywhere, but I managed to replace my vape with a couple of different ones: SMOK Stick X8; and, Wismec Luxotic BF (my first RDA type vape).

I've committed myself to purchasing the Sigelei Top 1 RDA kit - although the deck looks a bit dicey for installing coils, I can eventually switch back to an RTA tank on it... if it doesn't work for me over time.

You're best off getting a mid-range vaporizer, as the cheap ones generally leak, and need to be kept in a standing position, although they can still leak. The SMOK X8 Stick vape will set you back around AU$70-

Once you're equipped with a vaporizer, and fluid however, vaping won't cost much at all.

Funnily enough, this isn't far from the truth - for many vapers.

Where I used to work, some of the guys would come back into the warehouse and do their vape thing. I kept telling them that it was not cool - I did not care, but they could lose their job if caught by a boss - and that even an hour or so after they puffed a bit it could still be "olfactorily" evident and cameras would reveal the offender.

They thought the warehouse was a "safeplace" to ignore company policy, but nope. There are four  cameras recording everything that occurs within those closed doors. I told them all and still they did it until one day during an early Saturday meeting, one of the guys turned around with his rig in his mouth and came face to face with TeH Big Boss.
He did not get fired, but they now make announcements at every daily meeting that such is not tolerated. However, notice that it was tolerated at least once.

Sorry for missing this question mate.

Practically anything you can think of :) If not, everything you can think of - except for things you wouldn't like to taste (even so, there's probably a market for those flavors too). I've heard of some far out flavors which include: Mi Goreng noodles, along with others such as chilli type flavors, and there are nuttier flavors such as Hazel, by the Milkman - probably the best one I've tried to date.

The market for flavors is enormous! Happy flavor-hunting in the future renaeden :)

If your friend lives in Australia, she'll need to order nicotine fluid(s) online to either add nicotine to her fluid, or buy fluid with nicotine in it. Ebay works, but I suggest 'liquidnicotinewholesalers.com' as their prices are pretty good, if you're willing to order several bottles -  the postage isn't free in Australia, but it still works out much cheaper than cigarettes... or buying your zero nicotine fluids retail (then there's the additional cost of 100mg nicotine fluid. Hope this helps.
