He said he would ask if they would change the color, it doesn't matter, some people love the color red...but they are evil usually.. :autism:

Well, it's in the options, if U sign up? Whether U'd think it a 'little kid's site' or not, most of us like the colour scheme but I thought there would be others who'd want a choice, anyway. Feel free to ask Adam himself about it, of course, since he is still in here, too!
Meanwhile, you're not answering the Qs here? lols

What kind of design work do you do?

Do you find the whole Comic Sans vs. Helvetica debate boring?
Title: Re: Ask Meadow thread
Post by: Meadow on March 28, 2012, 06:18:05 PM
Apart from classical art which is my favorite, I do different kinds of design work, including textile design, beaded bags, needlepoint, digital/computer art and stained glass designs.

I prefer more simpler, neutral fonts personally. Always have took a minimalist approach though.

Do you ever show any of your work online?

That'll be interesting to see. I do some artwork myself, but due to college work I haven't had a good chance at it in a long time.

That sounds like a lot! I hope you do put some up here. Classical as in watercolours &/ or oils?

I'll put up a different one since you think that's a joke.
Title: Re: Ask Meadow thread
Post by: Frolic_Fun on March 28, 2012, 06:59:22 PM
I never said it was a joke. :S

I know that feel. I'm often like this with my photography and music, although I could manage to keep focused to keep on going. I put off drawing/painting etc. for a while because I lacked the attention span to finish it without that frustration, as seen with these:

Good work Schleed, it does take a lot of devotion usually to get good at it. I have never applied myself and gone off into design work more instead.

They're quite different in style & I'm no art expert but both looked good, to me, Meadow! Yours too, Schleed!  :plus:

I said you have talent, I tend to be honest about these things. :P

I like that one too. Lines have a nice flow to it. I've dyspraxia so I actually find it difficult to draw things in a clean manner.

Any egs of design work, then? That takes artistic talent, too; if it suits you better, it may also be a 'better' choice, in a practical sense, for getting paid for it?
Title: Re: Ask Meadow thread
Post by: Meadow on March 28, 2012, 07:13:20 PM
I wasn't sure with the smiley but thanks nevertheless. I'm never 100% satisfied myself with my work. I regret not being able to go to school and think it's kind of late now for that.

Thanks Bruce. :)
Title: Re: Ask Meadow thread
Post by: BruceCM on March 28, 2012, 07:22:54 PM
Um, you're 21, according to your profille? I just don't know enough about art to be sure how much money you could make that way or how much 'school' you'd need! Maybe, if you do design as a main job, for now, you can do your other art as a hobby & see how it goes?
Can't really advise about the 'never being 100% satisfied with your work', apart from you're a perfectionist & art isn't too good at subjecting itself to critical scrutiny. Artists tend to be their own worst critics (from happening to read book blurbs & so on)!

Title: Re: Ask Meadow thread
Post by: Meadow on March 28, 2012, 07:32:59 PM
lol, I didn't know my profile says 21. For the classical training is what I'm referring to. I would have liked that. I tried several times but had too much interference and sabotage from those close to me to get far and now it's a little too late for that part of it. I did fine on my own but I would have liked formal training. Some artists wish they had no formal training because outside artists aka self taught artists' work is highly sought after. I'm just someone who would have greatly benefited from formal, classical training.

Yeah, sorry! Karma's 22, now, though! I prefer drawings & paintings but the stained glass seems good. Sorry about the problems, seems some of the now famous names in art & classical music struggled in their own lifetime. The design work at least pays, though?

I can't see any of the images. I am especially interested in the stained glass one as my mum does leadlighting. Right now she is making lamps and has made jewellery boxes and display pieces before.

I am also interested in the geometric one, I like that kind of thing.

If you don't learn how to have friends as a child, can you learn it as an adult? Thats my question. They say being able to learn things like this drops off as you age. That together with the already inherent social problems fairly well limits any possibility along with a growing dislike for the human race, which forums have only contributed a great deal to. That's a tittle bit about me.
