Title: The right to arm bears
Post by: drewtheyellow on November 01, 2006, 11:51:37 AM
Seeing the wild success of the topic "The right to bear arms" I think that the next logical step is to go onto the right to arm bears and the many benefits that this can bring. For one, if we arm bears then there will be less forest fires as Smokey will shoot the SOBs. As well, if we arm bears then we also have an instant militia force defending our forests from intrusion. Many people would think "why arm bears?" well, they aren't looking at the real question which is "how can we not arm bears?". I think that arming bears is necessary in the name of freedom and patriotism and anyone who opposes me are sociopathic pinko-commu-nazis. ;D

I was thinking... Hey, Scrapheap, Litigious, et al, let's just leave this discussion. You won't convert me, and I won't convert you. We'll quote statistics on each other, we'll call each other names, we'll insult Charlton Heston, again, to what use?

We'll not agree, but I'm afraid I might piss you off and you'd come waving with your guns. ;)

I also support the right to Arm Bears, not only for the reasons, drewtheyellow stated!  But, lets make hunting season a REAL sport, mano a bearo or for that matter, mano a Deero.  I mean think of the thrill of hunting something that can also shoot the hunter as well as stuff and mount them on their den wall.  It would also provide a good source of protein and fat to bulk up the bears  for hibernation.  It would also serve the purpose of culling the idiotic and stupid hunters that drink :glug: while hunting and shoot at anything that moves.  Including houses, cats, dogs, horses, cows, barns and people just wanting to enjoy their yards. :truce:

So I support the right to arm bears, deer, coyotes, foxes, wolves, moose yadda yadda yadda!

Fair enough. Keep in mind I was arguing with you about one topic, I'm not gonna run off and say your mom fucks geese or something. We disagree, no big deal. Like all debates, I just wanted to try and open your mind to the other side. Yeah, people are afraid of anything associated with violence, including firearms, and I understand that. I don't own firearms to shoot people, I own them for recreation.

I just hate that some people have to fuck it up for everyone. And that's what some people want, to take away firearms completely because some fuckhead who couldn't graduate elementary school and robs people to survive carries a plastic brick (otherwise known as a Glock 17) and compensates for a small penis by threatening people with it. I, on the other hand, pay taxes and obey the law, and don't want my freedoms infringed upon more than they already are.

Anyway, I'm done with this topic too. I agree that we can go back and forth, but while I can understand your fear/hatred of firearms, you don't seem to be able to understand my side, probably because you haven't had experience with them, which is no fault. I don't like the 'I don't like ____, so no one should _____!" mentality myself.

Edit: Damn similar topic names, I didn't realize this was the gag topic ;p

I know the animal rights people would throw a fit, but I think slapping metal plates on the sides of bears, and mounting gun turrets on the top and training it to move remotely with small electric shocks would be cheap and easy compared to all the cost and complexity of building a tank, and training people to use em.  You could control bear tanks with a bored 12 year old who got kicked out of the arcade that day for kicking the drink machine for eating a dollar.

me, i am too far removed from reality and college to remember the important sides of an issue.  yet i enjoy reading other peoples thoughts on the matter.
thanks drew for this counter thread for the peeps like me, who, enjoy a little light humour.

personally, i have lost the stomach for 'taking sides' type issues.  i have found that many people have their beliefs in place and will not be swayed.
though i reiterate, i do enjoy reading both sides of an issue.
i especially enjoy seeing Odeon get pwned.

No probs, I just wanted to see that the important issues finally received attention.

Yeah, well, I can see both sides of an issue but to be honest, gun rights are not one of my key issues. I mean, living in America, I need to remember that our founding principles were the right to shoot anything we dislike and to hate taxation, but of course this must be balanced with other concerns as well.

I actually don't have a problem with guns, it's the idiots and drool monkeys who make it bad for the responsible gun owners.  Despite my little diatribe earlier I don't have a problem with legitimate hunting and hunters either.  Poachers, irresponsible hunters and just plain jerks, once again do the damage for those who hunt responsibly.  Take out the factor of the idiots, twits, jerks and fools and we wouldn't be having this debate!

IMHO, the only thing that makes a cold or flu bearable, besides the Tylenol, sudafed and a hot drink, is a good stiff shot (or 2+) of whatever your favorite alcohol.  If I'm going to be sick and miserable, then I'll be sick and buzzed, at least I'll have a smile on my face and won't care!

That's the way most peoples' bodies work when they have some kind of bad infection with high fever. I think it's the immune system working very hard to get rid of the infection. After all, arthritis is the immune system being over-active and attacking the own body. But joint ache by high fever is just a sign of health.

I at least see the right to arm black bears - I don't think the Chinese need their gallbladders THAT bad that it shouldn't at least be a bit of a sporting challenge to take em out. As for arming em, RPGs might be ok but I still think stock in Microsoft and Halliburton might give them more clout  >:D.
