I'm really glad that you found us, Mechanima.
I read your last few posts on that other site and I didn't see anything in them that I thought should have resulted in a ban, so it makes no sense.
However, bans on WP often make no sense. Odeon was banned for comparing WP to a bad daytime soap opera.
Sinsboldly was a member here some time ago, but she left after people asked her too many questions about her moderation policies.
Apparently, questions about her having been a semi-professional dominatrix in Minneapolis (http://www.intensitysquared.com/index.php/topic,10689.0.html) would have been OK, though.

...and I have been keeping that to myself for months because I hadn't got a CLUE about the rights and wrongs...except there was no "semi" about the pro at all. As I understand it, brothel keeping does not HAVE the requisite "not for profit" element to qualify as "semi Pro".

My mother told me that he could not have had so many experiences in such a short lifetime and when I made the mistake of telling him this he became completely enraged and threw a tantrum, which was a side of him I had never seen before so I wound up breaking up with him.

That sounds like a Ticker. She also had so many bad things happen to her and I admit a few things she says sounds like an exaggeration such as a boulder following her for two miles down the road if I remembered correctly and the fact she has said she has dated 37 women. I find that hard to believe and I think maybe she went out with women and saw it as a date than going out as friends or acquaintances. Pretty naive to think you dated someone when you went out as a friend because you wanted someone to go with to head somewhere. Maybe she also went with a group of women somewhere and saw that as a date too.

Shleed is just another member of I2, zOMG and also had an account at WP. He has a forum called Spasticity. He is from Ireland, and generally likes to stir the pot. I think he's quite funny.
Lollylongs was a sockpuppet of Shleed's on WP, which was hilarious given the amount of shit it stirred up there. Unfortunately it didn't last long.

Welcome, Mechanima. :) Renaeden and hykeaswell are right: On a large and busy site such as WP, it's difficult to get to know more than a handful of people, and furthermore, it's all too easy to make an inadvertent remark that will cause offence to somebody at some point.
Intensity is organised on different principles. The whole point of the place is the taking and giving of offence. A love of absurdity and the hide of a rhino are assets to be treasured. I hope you have fun posting here.

Sinsboldly used to be a friend of mine (and still is... all Aspies are frineds of mine!) I kind of suspect it was she who banned me... look at my last posts too; I said nothing! (I'm Ana54.) Also read Adverb's posts; he's banned too and said nothing! He hadn't posted in 8 months, then logged in 2 months ago and wasn't banned (and he didn't post). Then 2 months later, when he logged in again, he found he was banned. I always wonder about the people who are so wild in one way but so rigid and behaviorist in another. My boyfriend is kind of like that too. Sinsboldly bragged to me about being a moderator, and then never missed an opportunity to give me a moderator warning... about anything at all. It accelerated, getting more and more bizarre and obvious that something was up.
I still consider her my friend, though we haven't talked much in the last several months, but some of the things you said here are hilarious... like what someone said about her getting a tattoo saying "WP Moderator"...

My friend MADDuck remarked that it didn't look like I was banned. I had to explain to him that there was a time for a while when the banned members got the little red x under their name and "Banned", but not anymore. So they still do it sometimes? It's really suspicious that they don't seem to do it to the ones who have posted more.

Yeah I have also gotten from one of my WP friends that I wasn't banned under likedcalico because it didn't say banned and have an X in it. So I had to take a screen shot and show it to her.
I can remember someone asking why don't all banned members have banned under their names and someone said their guess was when the words say banned, it was done by Alex. But I guess he doesn't do it anymore because I know he banned my calico account unless he told another mod to do it but why tell another mod to ban someone for you if you have the ability to do it yourself? Maybe the members don't get X's under their names anymore with the word banned. The last person I saw who had it was The Zach which was TheFace. He had few accounts there.

Alex doesn't know half the shit that goes on there. When pandora got banned, she sent Alex an email, and he was more like 'what the?'. Didn't re-instate her, though. Those fucking mods there are too thin skinned, and seem to be sticking up for the real 'tards who need a cyber-slap up the side of their heads. If that's what you mean, I remember a lot of people on WP congratulating me when I got pregnant, and telling me "See? Things do get better." when I told them that Adverb was coming up to get me and that we would be living in his house with other WP members, turning it into an Aspie group home.
It was Sins Boldly who banned me... that might be why I didn't get a red x or "Banned" under my name.

i don't tell people off for complaining
i mostly just ignore it actually, which i think is the best thing to do if you don't wanna get involved in a big load of shit
but some people are relentless and will just go on and on and on, expecting help/sympathy from people when they don't even bother contributing anything else (ie just having a laugh and talking to people about other things for a change)
then it's understandable if someone gets annoyed and tells them to grow some balls and shut the fuck up
most people go through a whiny phase in life, and a lot of the time they need their ass kicking out of it (not literally)
this is especially true for a lot of aspies (imo), and particularly the ones that get diagnosed late
i was DXed at 18 and after being a fairly keep-your-shit-to-yourself-and-don't-be-a-whiny-bastard teenager, i suddenly found out i had a reason for my problems, and felt this gave me an excuse to sit and moan about it with the other spazzes
this is the kind of shit that goes on on wp and it's unbelievably hard to get yourself out of because everyone else around you is either doing the same or encouraging it
when i come across someone like that now, i try to ignore it for their own sake and try getting them into talking about something else
but some people just won't fucking learn at all and need to be told to grow the fuck up
i don't treat people like shit for complaining, and if someone complains now and then then that's fine (and i will try and help them if i can), but i can think of plenty of examples of people who do NOTHING but complain as if everyone else wants to hear it

Or people complaining about problems that can't be solved such as the price of gas, or medical condition, people's ignorance or stupidity, I find that real annoying when all they do is bitch and moan about the same stuff. My ex did that. It was about the price of living and the price of gas and the price of eating. Everything he didn't like was "retarded." He even thought it was retarded when I made him pick up after himself to shut me up because he was a being a slob. I was not going to keep picking up after him or else he learn to not do it because I do it for him.
Everyone also complains about things that bothered them and that's okay because they want support and comfort and advice. But to keep complaining about it and never getting over it is annoying. I know I have been guilty of this a few times in my life so I try and not do it anymore. I know a very few people on WP who do that such as nightbender but I don't really read his posts because it's always whining. They're not as interesting as KenM's. Some peoples complaining is really boring and some others is entertaining. We need more KenMs on WP to make the place more fun ;)
