The above lolcat illustrates my worst dogsitting nightmare. That's why I keep my meds carefully out of reach in a guest bedroom with the door closed. :apondering:
-
Let's talk about the medications we are taking. :M
-
I had to give them up because of my age and my heart!
-
I had to give up ziprasidone (Zeldox/Geodon) because of my heart. The doctors were really serious about it.
-
I hope I won't have to give up my Strattera at any point. :orly:
-
Nor me with dexamphetamine. Ritalin makes me feel numb in the head and I certainly don't need more of that!
-
Ritalin actually is the opposite of that for me. I can actually focus.
-
Did you try dexamphetamine or its equivalent?

I missed this at the time.
But no, I haven't.
-
I know a few people who get dexamphetamine compounded so they only have to take it once a day. I would do it but it's too expensive for me and there is no chemist around here that does it anyway.

I wish I could send over some American talent. :heisenberg:

^ That would be cool. :)

I would like that. I have to take 3 doses as I can feel it wearing off if I don't.

Yeah, I can feel it a few times a day but it's not that dramatic.I do notice that it's a time release pill.
-
I seriously wish I could take it again!
-
Why can't you? :-\

Why can't you? :-\
My doctor is concerned about my age and my rapid heartbeat combined. If I had continued with ritalin I would have had to take a low dose beta blocker as well. Yoga helps my concentration, but, some days my brain is a bloody whirlwind of crowded thoughts. And thats when I wish I had it again. <sigh> Getting older sucks some days.
-
Sorry to hear it.

You SHOULDN'T generally mix stimulants and beta-blockers. Not to treat....gah..well what happens is that with beta adrenergic receptors blocked that released noradrenaline/adrenaline is still there and it has to bind SOMEWHERE, so it can occur that you get an essentially unopposed alpha-adrenoreceptor stimulation leading to a paradoxically, increased vasoconstriction.
Generally more of a problem at higher doses but with a pre-existing heart problem...I'd talk to your doc about that.

Has anyone got any experience with clarity or clarity-H?
I was mildly curious. Am a bit wary of stuff with ginseng in it. :P
