Can I fix your title?

Renaeden, are you talking about the word 'reponce'? Because all I keep thinking is of that Aussie slang word, ponce / pounce!
-

That is actuality something I wan to so for myself but my service need needs to be upgraded which is beyond me you have a 200 amp service it is not that hared to do. Right now I use a crappy 110 welder with a low duty cycle to get around that problem still waiting to fry it
I think your out of my normal work area too unless it comes with airfare
-
Can I fix your title?
:P
Done spelling is not one of my strong points so when it passes google spell check I leave it alone

Heh, I have not heard that word in some time! But I do know what it means.
parts, general house power here is 240V. What is it in America?

Are you interested in joining the Aspie Elite and getting a cool custom title and Secret Decoder Ring?
-
A decoder ring I can't wait :green:
-
can you get me free cable?
-
can you get me free cable?
If you live in an apartment building I bet I could.
-
neat.
-
Now all I need is airfare
-
A decoder ring I can't wait :green:
It's a big let down to tell the truth. Whenyou de-code the secret messages, it just tells you to drink your Ovaltine. >:(

-
what is revolting about ovaltine?
I had it with bad milk once and that's all I can remember every time I see it. The same is true with yougrut, mushrooms ,vodka, and one hundred grand candy bars got sick after each really bad so they bing back memories

life without vodka, is not life at all.
-
life without vodka, is not life at all.
That's what tequila and beer are for
-
Tequilla's fine, as are other liquors, but
without the purity of vodka, I just don't
see the point of mere imitation.

There is always Everclear 190 proof that was big when I was in college
-
Essentially really cheap grain vodka.
They sell the same kind of stuff in
russia.
-
We used to make punch with it though on more than one occasion I drank some straight from the bottle on a dare it was rather harsh
-
I found that by mixing it 50/50 with mountain dew,
I got something which tasted a LOT like gin. I don't
like gin, but it's better than everclear.
Even the lab grade alcohol tasted better.

true dat. Vodka is beautiful.
-
life without vodka, is not life at all.
What is your favorite kind??
I've been drinking a lot of Blue Ice lately because of the cost/quality ratio. I drink Belvedere whenever it's on sale. 8)
-
i like Smirnoff.
-
I buy cheap shit (Kamchatka - but it's pretty good for so cheap).
Always like absolut though.
-
Looking at your childhood pics
('specially the black and white one)
made me wonder your age. I'm
guessing between 45 and 50, but
too lazy to check your intro thread
to see.
Care to repeat?

Forty. One of my brothers is fifteen years older than me and became a professional photographer we had black and white family photos into the eighties he still does custom black and white for some clients
-
Ah. That's what confused me, because the color
shots looked about the quality I'm used to. We're
the same age. 8)

-
What do You like about Intensity?
Well for one nothing is off limits I have a hard time trying to be appropriate at times and mostly just hold what I say here I don't worry. Also it's funny in ways that I like, somewhat dark and what many would consider disturbing.
-
Looks like you meet the current WC requirements,

As a site, I2 is governed by it's membership.
You meet the current eligibility requirements.
If you so wish, you can be added to the chaos
of bickering and fun known as the WC.

-
parts, tell us the story behind your new avatar. :)
I was a big Deadhead all though collage and lately I have been feeling nostalgic
-
you never show your face, do you?
I'm not really photogenic maybe I'll find one
-
cool. i've just seen you in a mask and hands over your face. you can't be that ugly! ;)
-
cool. i've just seen you in a mask and hands over your face. you can't be that ugly! ;)

Perhaps tomorrow I will
-
Me a couple years ago during our renovation crewing my new dog toy :green:
-
see there you're not a bad looking guy. ;)
that chew toy is priceless.
-
Do you chew things regularly?
-
Do you chew things regularly?
My food  When I was young I used to chew leather and cloth. This was a toy gag gift from my wife at Christmas. Stocking stuffers we always go for the bizarre one year I got a large plastic peanut with little birds that sang in it when you opened it she has gotten silverware and a those hockey puck thing for urinals in hers
-
Heh. I'm just wondering what the hell
I'd do, if I ever stopped smoking. Even
little breaks, I often am chewing on
my pipe.
-
My daughter who is 9 has a little baby toy she chews in her room she calls it her moo chew
My son chews bottle caps till they are just twisted plastic
-
Corks. Yeah, I know that they're poisonous.
But I love them. Trying to get used to the
vinyl ones. :-\
-
I also bite the inside of my lips and cheeks when nervous sometimes with bloody results :-[
-
You too? I've got scars on the inside of my cheeks.
My lips are often a bloody mess. But, the cheeks was
largely because my teeth always itched.
-
Yeah I like the way it feels and the taste. I think more people do it than ever will admit. I see my kids doing but they deny it
-
I like skin better. Peel callouses off and eat them.
Used to eat my cuticles, but that got painful.
-
My son does that now but is trying to stop
-
Always was afraid I was doing damage,
but it didn't seem that I was. Used to
chew my nails (just to groom them) -
forgot how though. Stupid
nail clipper never did as good a job,
but now I lost my skill with my teeth.
They never turned my nails into dangerous
weapons.
-
Both my daughter and so chew their toenails :eh:
We are all very flexible and could if I wanted but yuck
Never chewed my finger nails either
-
Tried my toenails. They're too tough to really
manage. I do chew skin off my feet though.
-
Even at 40 I can still get one foot behind my head and touch my hands flat on the floor without bending my knees I also still walk on stilts for work Starting to get creaky though
-
Even at 40 I can still get one foot behind my head and touch my hands flat on the floor without bending my knees
At the same time? :o
I also still walk on stilts for work Starting to get creaky though
That's more balance then flexibility though, no?
I could've been a professional spackler, if I wasn't
afraid of heights.
-
Not at the same time
Stilts are more about balance but picking things up off the floor while wearing them is about both. I used to be able to pick up coins off the floor while wearing them at 24 inches now I can get my knife but nothing smaller. Heights bug me to a point but not as much as some people
-
Wow. All that the guy who was
training me needed was to be able to dip
his knife into buckets.
-
And to think I am 250lbs but like I said I am beginning to feel it in the joints
-
Yeah, I can't really imagine being
that flexible, with the weight you
carry.
-
Yeah, I can't really imagine being
that flexible, with the weight you
carry.
Nobody seems to be able to. In collage I had the nickname Mr slugo because like a slug I appeared to have no bones. Even used to be able to touch the back of my hands with some of my fingers it really grossed people out
-
my dad is really flexible. he could bend his hands back. i am too. i was more flexible as a child. i've gotten stiff lol. :P but i still can get my hands on the floor knees straight, not my palms though anymore. my mom was all omg how did you do that? lol. it wasn't that weird. and i can get my hands to touch behind my back, mom can't, i think. i think it's genetic, if you're flexo or not.
-
I think it's genetic also my daughter and one of my sons are the same way. When I was younger my sisters had me put on shows for their friends
-
like the elephant man. :(
-
"They don't call me the Elephant Guy, for my nose"
-
like the elephant man. :(
Yeah but I thought it was fun at the time now I think it was embarrassing
-
not as much as the elephant man.
they call you that, Cal? you're the birdman. tell them.
-
'Twas a quote from an SNL sketch.
-
What's the most erotic thing you've done,
with a member of your own gender?
-
Sorry I'm very boring in this respect passing thoughts are as far as I've ever gone and that was a long time ago
-
You wrote not long ago that your truck had to be fixed. What happened?
-
I needed a new front hub assembly and a new overflow tank for the radiator. It was expensive but was done in one day
-
At the risk of sounding completely dumb, what is a front hub assembly?
-
The bit that hold the front tire on and connects the drive shaft to it. I was told if it had seized up at even moderate speed it would have ripped the tire off along with half of the front end suspension
-
:o Yes that is worth getting fixed!
-
I thought so  I had been really speeding(85mph) the day before too guess I am lucky
-
What is your favorite sexual position?
-
Describe you idea woman, and in personality.
-
Describe you idea woman, and in personality.
Why so you can :wanker: about it or are you truly curious
-
I am serious.
What are you hobbies?
-
Well I will tell yo about hobbies. Mostly fixing things and making things. I like doing metal work and have done both blacksmithing and metal casting in the past. Also radio both listening and repairing older tube type sets.
-
How much wood could a woodchuck fuck, if a woodchuck could fuck wood?
-
3 cords if oak
6 if pine or spruce
-
How did you gain this knowledge?
-
I an the Alpha and Omega, I am the One True PARTS, I am Omnipotent
Don't doubt me or ye shall be labeled a blasphemer and cast out
-
You are NOT The Great Cat God
REPENT FOR THE SIN OF IMPERSONATION YOU HAVE JUST COMMITTED OR BE FOREVOR CAST INTO THE PIT OF ETERNAL CAT TOYS
-
I am the great Dog god I will use the great cat cod as a chew toy
-
I am the great Dog Flo I will use the great cat cod as a chew toy
The Great Cat God IS ALL POWERFUL, INVINCIBLE, AND VASTLY SUPERIOR TO ALL OTHER FloS NO EXCEPTIONS
-
You are NOT The Great Cat Flo
-
NOW look what you've done. ::)
You got fucktard going.
As to smithing, I don't remember if
I've asked, have you ever done any
weapons or armor?
-
Some small knives no armor though. I intend to build a forge this year and start some more projects but waiting till it gets warmer
-
What do you think of this pic of glowing tubes playing in the dark?
-
I love it it reminds me of childhood I liked watching the tubes glow in the TV and radio as much as watching the TV  And the smell of the dust burning on them O it brings back memories I still use a bunch of my tube radios I just like them better :green:
:plus: for the memories
-
You're welcome,
:indeed:
-
parts, are you feeling better? How is the new member of the household?

-
Can you help me? I got fucked over by the people I bought a washer and dryer from and now I need to install them myself. I've never done this before and I don't understand what I've found on Google.
The dryer is a Kenmore Ultra Fabric Care.
- Do I have the wiring right?
- Is it right to have two green wires connected to the outer screw, one from the wall cord and one from the inside of the dryer?
This is what the dryer looks like (that's a 4-prong plug on the wall)
This is the extent of the instructions the dryer has
(http://www.studiopyraxis.com/temp/dryer01.jpg)
-
I believe you got it right. Try and tighten everything up a bit more though
-
Okay, thank you :)
I bought some nuts, I just have to figure out how to get them round the back of the screws. Or I might have the wrong size screws, not sure. If I can't get the nuts to work I'll probably try to get a different size of screw.
-
It worked!

I'd love one but they are not east to come by I always keep my eyes open though. I live in a kinda strange part of the country my town was settled in 1639 and is at the heart of where the industrial revolution kicked off also it is just a few towns away from Yale needless to say there is a lot of weird shit floating around. I got the piranha from a Yale student on Craig's list
-
It would be great to catch one out by the Comoros Islands and get it stuffed. I read a book about them back in 4th grade. You'd need a big reel with LOTS of hi test line. Fuck yeah! Deep, deep deep sea fishing.iThat Piranha is cool too BTW, not the sort of thing most of your neighbors have. I brought a whalebone Maori amulet on a necklace back from NZ, I'm not a snob but I like having stuff that not everyone else has too.
-
Whale bone no problems bringing back? They asked me all kinds of questions just coming back from Canada about turtle shell jewelry and seal skin stuff. My brother has whale teeth from back in the day of whaling. I'd love to go fishing for a Coelacanth maybe if I hit the lotto
-
Yes, not much left from the Paleozoic Era. I was just looking up some stuff and apparently there are some in the area of Sulawesi Indonesia which would probably be more funto visit for fishing then SE Africa and Indian Ocean. I bet they'd be strong as shit and tough to reel in.
-
Why do people get more conservative as they get older?
-
Why do people get more conservative as they get older?
Not too sure I only got somewhat conservative mostly on things that I just saw would not work, with the more knowledge you gain as you get older you have more insight on how people act. Like Communism who be great if it didn't go so much against human nature everybody living in harmony but as you get older you know people are just going take advantage of their positions and others will just slack off. I still have my basic beliefs from when I was younger just lost my faith in others to live up to expectations and not be corrupted.

My collections rocks and coins

Do you support behaviorism (concentrating on behaviors rather than feelings)? (I HAVE to ask everyone that.)
-
not really sure what to say to that my interests lie more in the mechanical than the theory of behavior
-
Hmmm...
Do you know what the Judge Rotenberg Center is? If so, do you support it?
-
No I get shocked enough playing around with old electronics. Put an electrode on me and I'd put a hammer in their head :grrr:
-
What is your new avatar about?
Also, are your new meds helping?
-
What is your new avatar about?

Meds seem to be doing pretty good :green:
-
Are you an ailurophile?
-

-
What is that in your avatar? Klonopin?

yes
-
as a contractor which do you prefer: a house built on a raised foundation or one built on a slab?
why?
what are the advantages/disadvantages of both?
-
I like having a basement so a raised foundation in what I would prefer, With an unfinished or partly unfinished basement retrofitting things is much easier than slab construction as is running all the mechanicals. It also gives you the option to finish the basement. Slabs are good where the water table is high they also tend to be cheaper. All this is not my area of expertise though, Abound where I live now most everything is built on a raised foundation and it is what I have more experience with. I mostly do work with energy efficiency
-
Does business slow down in the summer months for you?
-
Summer is not that bad right now is the slowest time of year mostly due to weather. Houses and additions would have had to have been started in the in middle of the winter for them to be ready now the retro work is slow as most are thinking of summer. Some work can't be done when it's below freezing so some of that is ready but not a lot

Name the stuff in your possession that you are currently most proud of.
-
Was your 100,000 BTU torch expensive?
-
Proud of huh. This is only things not family or pets
I am a bit strange on these matters to me it would not be just about value but things that mean something to me, that I put a lot of time into or was lucky to find. that being said...
The machine I use to blow in insulation I have completely rebuilt it twice now, and it was a wreck when I got it and did not work
My books
My cast aluminum hand
My tools with out them I could not work
The list could go on but it is always changing

-
Was your 100,000 BTU torch expensive?
Not really it is professional roofers touch so it was more than the ones at Home Depot it was about $150
It runs off a BBQ tank
The furnace in my house is only 110,000 btu

:agreed: I was fortunate to take that trip. Have you always had a fear of flying?
Paris is awesome.
Very much so.

Not so much flying but the stuff involved, security, lots of people so close nowhere to get away.
Between the ages of 11-18 I flew back forth between Florida and Connecticut three or four times a year alone but flying was different then, more comfortable, easier going. The last time I flew
was in the 90's it was a nightmare. So bad the airline even gave us vouchers valued at almost what we paid for tickets to use the next time we flew. After 911 it looks even worse. I I ever hit the
lottery I will sail to Europe

Speaking of sailing, do you ever get seasick? :orly:

Sometimes. Not as much if I am concentrating on something though.

In that case, I hope you win BIG and sail to Europe on a massive luxury liner with fabulous round-the-clock buffets! :2thumbsup:

Just wondering what your previous avatar was about. I think there were about 4 or 5 people facing the camera in it.

And then there were None (1945) Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdZMnn3IBi0#)
It is from the Movie And Then There Where None a mystery by Agatha Christie where the people in the island where being killed off one by one as each died one of the Indians in the sculpture they are facing get knocked down. I was somewhat obsessed with that and a few other old movies when I was little.
-
Ah ok. I am wondering if my mum has seen this as she likes mystery movies. Will have to ask her.

Have you ever run across a Thermos Cooker from the 50's in your flea marketing? They're the neatest thing.
The one we have must hold about a half-gallon and is in excellent shape inside, the glass liner is intact. PA rubbed the worst of the rust and a little of the finish off with steel wool. Since we're not interested in selling it, the sprucing up's effect on the value doesn't bother us.
-
Not sure I see lots of kitchen stuff and I am not always sure what some of the stuff is

Your Silverado had an 8.1 if I remember correctly, didn't it? What kind of mileage did you get with it?
-
It was a 2003 2500HD 8.1l with a crew cab and an eight foot bed. I got just 8-8.5mph around town and around 13 on the highway. The truck weighed somewhere around 6400lbs empty so with a short bed and no crew cab you might bring the weight down enough to get a couple more mpg.
-
That's about what I get with my non-HD 2500 with a 6.0. I'm thinking about getting an HD at the end of the summer with the 8.1. The Duramax just isn't worth the premium to me, especially with the cost of diesel now.
-
I loved the truck it had more power than anything I had ever driven. I pull a small trailer at times it was like it wasn't even there. The only draw backs where the mileage, which your use to, the turning radius sucks and the parts for the 8.1 are not always in stock

What sports did you like to play as a kid and what were uyou best at?

What sports did you like to play as a kid and what were uyou best at?
Must have missed this the other day sorry.
Sports :lol1: I was forced to play baseball at an early age till about age 11, I was never really very good at it as I had some coordination and fine motor skill issues. I moved to Florida when I was 11 and became obsessed with swimming but was never on any teams it did help greatly though with my coordination. I really don't follow or play sports even now.

I like that jacket.
-
and his shirt collars, was he dressed up for the photo? i mean like was it his 'Sunday best'?
-
Most photos from that time the people dressed their best because having the photos taken was expensive and they wanted to look their best . I am pretty much the family's archive and have loads of photos going back to the late 1800's. I don't know much about many of them other than what side of the family they are on, people didn't seem to label photos much back then.

Do you have X-ray vision? I can't see his instrument through his clothes.

^Perv. :smarty:

Experience has taught me one thing Your Majesty
Never ever indicate to a man that you are having difficulty seeing his instrument!
>:D

Glad I am not the only one to use an Ask Away thread as a place to store information. :P

How often, if at all, do you laugh?
If you do is it a boisterous laugh, a courtesy laugh or a quiet laugh?
-
I probably laugh a little less than the average person out loud at least I laugh silently in my head all the time though the world is just too fucking bizarre not to. I am a rather quiet person in general and my laugh is also.
-
Nobody has asked me anything in over a year :CanofWorms:
-
Why do you think that is? :zoinks:
-
How do you feel about being a granddad now that (presumably) things have settled a bit?
-
Old, but it's pretty good besides that
-
Don't know why I have only just noticed, but Parts, why do you have the female symbol on your profile?
-
I changed it a couple of years ago to prove the point that most people don't pay any attention to it
-

You mentioned it when you did change it, IIRC.
-
I think so too. Not sure, though.

How would you go about prepping a metal garage door for a new coat of paint?
-
As a follow-up...how much would you charge?
-

Get off any loose paint or rust. If it's really glossy you might want to dull it a bit with 000 steel wool. Clean it and let it dry. Prime any bare metal let dry. Paint it

Marley has a fearsome jaw! Is she part pitbull? :orly:
-
Yes along with bull dog and Jack Russel terrier. The Pit bull part is the reason we have her. Her original owner was moving to France and they do not allow pit bulls or any pit bull mix in the country. She is in general a very nice calm dog that just wants to sit on you while you scratch her back but she gets a bit wild when she is playing. Here's an old vid of her going nuts back when we still had Yoyo
