So my questions are...
Why have you not started one of these threads for yourself? ;)
What other forums have you been a member of before here?
Why is aswell on the end of your name?

I have started a thread a while ago, http://www.intensitysquared.com/index.php/topic,10845.msg468178.html#msg468178 ;)
I've been a member on AFF, till september 2008. Technically I am still a member there, but have rarely posted there since.
I was a mod on Spectrumites, and since a month or so I'm an admin there.
I am a member on ASDgestalt, but am not that good in dealing with multiple forums, so I've neglected that place lately.
Aswell; well, hykeaswell was my sockpuppet on AFF, for when I was past my 40 posts a day limit. And I liked combining "AS" and "well" to my name. It still makes me visible as hyke, and that is OK with me.

I like the old poetry you find. ;D

It's Middle High German; Niebelungenlied. :toporly:
-
I am not good with multiple forums either.
What is the story behind your avatar?
-
:green:
I came up with an avatar, because you asked.
And I love cows, always have. If I was lost as a little toddler, my parents would be looking for a circle of cows in the meadow. I'd be in the middle of the circle.
So, I looked for a nice picture of a cow. And changed the colour, making it an odd cow.
-
Yes, that's right. Everyone should have an avatar! Especially those who don't!
:plus:
-
It does make it a lot easier to recognise a poster, and it is so educational too .
I would never have known the word 'cog' if it was not for your avatar. :plus:
And cog wheels are cool to look at.
-
Does people changing their avs a lot confuse you?
-
Sometimes, especially when they change their names too
But then again, there are only a few in the habit of doing that, and mostly I can sort it out quickly enough.
Your mr Inc was a hard one though.
And a while ago, when people were changing usernames and avatars almost by the hour, that was confusing. But I'll live. :P

Why are you drawn to cows? Do you own any yourself? Do you have a favourite kind?

Why?
I really don't know. It's from so young on. Not obsessed with them any more. But they are still my favourite animal. And they do feel and smell great. And when you sit beside a meadow, and they come slowly closer, curious, and still grazing, that's such a nice sound.
I have quite a few farmers in my family. The aunt and uncle I liked visiting the most were letting us kids do all kinds of things with the cows. We milked them, fed them, cleaned them, were there during calving.
I also seem to have known everything of every cow there. How much milk they produced, fat percentage of the milk etc. I do not recall that. But it was what my parents told during my diagnosis evaluation.
I did know every cow by name though, and the temper of every one. Meek, anxious, friendly, obnoxious.
In my poetry album I had as a child, my uncle pasted a picture of his cows. On it was my favourite one.
The feel of calves sucking on my fingers when they needed to learn to drink from a bucket is a good memory.
I mainly know the Dutch black and white Friesian Holland type cows from my youth (smaller predecessor of the Friesian Holstein). But my aunt and uncle where I was a lot, also had one Jersey cow, she was gorgeous. Very friendly, and nosey, she had a habit of breaking out. My Opa had, beside his Friesian cattle a few Blaarkop cows, both black and brown. And one cow with weird spots on her side, it was a distinct race, but don't recall what kind of.
Not far from me, there is a small group of Lakenvelders. Not the cuddliest type of cow, but they do look great.
And I love the way Scottish Highlanders look.
A few cows of my own was a childhood dream. I wanted to become a farmer. Never happened. And now I am happy just to see cows outside in the fields.
Weird thing is that I love cows, but they also appeared in some of my childhood nightmares.
Just like I love water, always did, but water is also my biggest childhood anxiety.

i find that absolutely fascinating. 8)

Why have you kept the name andersom?
-
Probably because it fits my current avatar so well. There's no deeper thought. It's either that, or me being too lazy to change it back to hykeaswell.
Funny that you dug up my other ask away thread.

Does the other one have hyke in the title? Quick looked the entire ask away section and don't see another one.

How is Lorre going? Has he fully settled in?

Did you know that there are 9 U.S. states that have more cows than people??
The state of South Dakota has the biggest disparity with 4.5 cows for every person. :hyke:
