In this thread I want you to all post the problems you had with WP so that we can work something out with them and have an intense discussion and come to an understanding.
I'm Ana54. I registered here about a year ago, I think before that. I never posted, obviously. I was too busy on WrongPlanet. I sent the following letter to the WP mods on the Contact Us form. It said I would recieve a reply within 24 hours. 48 hours later, I still have not gotten a reply. I made the mistake of registering again before they replied to me (which they never anyway). And this was after I promised not to break the rules again! But I think I meant that I wouldn't break the rules as the new person. But they didn't know that.
Hi; I'm Ana54. Adverb is my boyfriend. Mysteria is my mother. Yesterday, we found out we were all banned. We want to know who banned us, and why.
I think I might understand why you would want to ban me. I did this little thing and that little thing, always a different little infraction against the rules, until finally one of my straws broke the camel's back. But (to my knowledge), Adverb and Mysteria didn't do anything at all.
It isn't just that their IPs were banned because they shared them with me. Their accounts were banned.
I did not do anything that really would have gotten me banned. Can you please make sure nobody hacked my account and used it to send nasty PMs or something? That is, if that's why I was banned. I have no access to my PMs right now.
If we were banned because you think the three of us are the same person, there are a bunch of others (including MADDuck, Poopylungstuffing, WaxDeejay, Flipmode, Stephaniecatherine, and aguales) who can attest to the fact that they have met us or talked to us on the phone and that we are indeed 3 different people.
If one of you banned us because you need to feel powerful, I totally understand. I like to feel powerful too. I like to feel like I have control over something. I like to be looked up to sometimes as someone who can do something a lot of people can't do. What we need is more friendships to show others how respectful/useful we can be to the others, while getting the same respect/use out of them.
I feel that if I had only done (or not done) something, we would still be there. I promise I won't do anything more to break the rules. I'll read them. I felt for the last few months that I was walking on eggshells, getting closer and closer to being banned. I didn't know if this was good judgment or delusional thinking. Some people said I was paranoid and that I had nothing to worry about. But apparently, my fears were not delusions, but good judgment. So I'll take my controversial posts elsewhere. I'll post them on my livejournal and other forums.
But if I've worn out my welcome, what can I do? Except ask you to explain where I went wrong, because I don't totally understand. I'm sure there is something I'm missing. And to tell you to please be fairer to the other two who did nothing at all.
Perhaps it was my talk about bickering with my boyfriend, whom I met on WP, that made them ban me, perhaps because they thought it would discourage others on WP from meeting up and having romantic (or even simply friendly) relationships with other people on WP.
Calico (likedcalico, Spokane Girl) says she does not know why they kept her as Spokane Girl after they banned her as likedcalico. She does not seem to know why they didn't either ban her again or give her her old account back. Perhaps it was because they were amused by her and her threads in the adult forum?
After I registered again, I did post controversial stuff, but nothing more controversial than what the average member posts. What I meant when I said I wouldn't post any more controversial stuff was that I wouldn't post any more about arguments with my boyfriend who was also a member on there.
Where are all the good, older mods when we need them? Where is Tinky? Where is Krex? Where are Ed, Nirrti, Beentheredonethat (who was a friend of mine) and Gwen and all the others who still seem to have moderator status but rarely post anymore? When they come back, and see this, what will happen?
What has happened to Sinsboldly, Lau and Quatermass, and maybe Alex too, is, I think, that they had this need that they never realized they had until they became admin/moderators of this big board, and suddenly this need was being fulfilled. But never enough. They need more. What can we do? I really want us to think of something so that we can have the old WP back without harming anyone, or anyone's ego, or whatever.
Look at my last posts too; I said nothing! (I'm Ana54.) Also read Adverb's posts; he's banned too and said nothing! He hadn't posted in 8 months, then logged in 2 months ago and wasn't banned (and he didn't post). Then 2 months later, when he logged in again, he found he was banned.
I feel like I have no one at all, except my 8-month-old baby and myself. And I know I always have my boyfriend, but sometimes it doesn't feel like it. And I know I always have my friends in the autistic community, but sometimes I feel like I don't. And the same with everybody else from the autistic community (really, everyone in the autistic community is my friend, but of course I have best friends).

WP is unsalvageable. It has been taken over by the (incorrectly) self-diagnosed whiners, and the mods do all they can to protect them from anyone who questions them.

There are what, 30 or 40 moderators? But only like 4 active ones. Surely some moderator will come back and see what's going on and realize... but unfortunately a lot of them don't help the members who are still there; they just choose to leave, like TheMachine1 did. We're only allowed one account on WP so that could be why they didn't give my old account back. Besides I don't really want to use that account anyway so I never asked for it back. I like Spokane Girl better and likedcalico just sounds like I used to like Calicos and now I don't anymore. Spokane Girl is misleading too because people keep thinking I am from Spokane and I live there. I've put on other forums in my profile that I do not live in Spokane and I just like the city.

I've said my problems about WP a few times. I don't I think I have said this yet, the mods don't even help you understand your actions and their rules when they give you a warning, if you're even lucky to get one of course than banning. If you get a warning from the mod and you don't understand what they are talking about and ask them to elaborate, they don't even answer your question. Sinboldly does this. I don't know if the others do too but I have only gotten several warnings from Sins. Her excuse was the mods are too busy and can't discuss rules with their members and it sounded bullshit to me. I mean if she has time to chat with one member back and forth in PM, then she sure has the time to help members understand their actions and rules. And if they want their members to follow their rules, they should at least try and help them understand and their actions so they won't do it again. If a mod can't do that, then they are not a good mod then and if they don't have the time to do it, they shouldn't even be a mod.

I've always loved pads. I preferred the Always because they absorbed. I didn't like flat pads. In fact I hated getting my period then because it was too messy and it get on my panties and clothes until I found another solution. Toilet paper in my butt crack to stop the blood from flowing up there and birth control pills made my period lighter.

Mind you, I could have done with some Depends when I had postpartum bleeding (and I didn't get the absurdity of them telling me not to use tampons for like 2 months after giving birth because it copuld cause an infection... HOW DOES THAT WORK???) That way you don't get it on the sheets, anyway.
SG, I suppose they could have given you your old account back and banned the Spokane Girl one. But I guess that would have required too much effort on their part.
I'm pretty sure they kept you around because you amused them with your fetish and made them feel good about themselves... on the other hand, they had no use for me. I reregistered as Stassia Florine, and made posts in the same style and about the same topics as I usually talked about as Ana54, and I lasted about 2 days. Then I was banned again.
And yes, Phlexor, I am very sensitive to humiliation! But since everybody on here seems to get humiliated by everyone else, perhaps it won't be so bad.
Chris: really? Do you have any stories to tell? I have an embarrassing moment I never told anyone about before. I was bleeding so heavily I had to make a huge pad out of toilet paper. It extended all the way back over my butt, so that hopefully I was still protected no matter how I sat or lay. Then at school, in gym class, I bent down to pick up a ball or something and my enemy at that school, who was about 15 feet away, looked right at my butt and whispered something to another girl. Then later (though I didn't get the connection between the two incidents until years later) another girl (in a group with her friends) asked me if I wore protection. Not knowing what that meant, and being a virgin and a naive one at that, I suspected that protection was something boys AND girls could wear while having sex. So I said that yes, I did wear protection. Oh, the fucking horror of it all! They never brought it up with me again. But there was never any rumor going around the school that I wore "protection" either. I hope they knew I thought that they meant protection for sex... not protection from shitting yourself!

As for the infection, it makes sense since by putting in a tampon, you're could potentially be transferring bacteria inside yourself. Hence why (I think) you're not allowed to keep the same tampon in for more than 4-5 hours.

Was there a memorial assembly where the principal said she died of that? (That would be so embarrassing!) Or was everybody just talking about it? Did her friends tell everyone she died of that? (Some friends they were if they did that.)

Also, your cervix is still open from having dilated for you to give birth, so it woud be easy for you to introduce bacteria into your uterus.

Took me more than a few days to be in the mood again, but it seems to be quite common to have sex really soon after childbirth.

TSS has more to do with too much absorbtion if I recall correctly. When the first cases of TSS were there, they were related to tampons with super-absorbant kernels. And that has been changed afterwards. It's not something that happens because of tampons alone. Huge wounds and bandages can cause TSS too.

The numbness is not true perse. The end result for me was that it only became more sensitive in a nice way. Took a few weeks to have it all functioning again, but it was even better than it had been before.
Don't get kids gambling on that after effect though....

Bint-- childbirth isn't bad if you have an epidural. Well, maybe it is if the epidural doesn't work. I got my epidural as soon as I was 5cm dilated and only had half an hour of pain during my 14 or so hours of labor.
Soph-- maybe British kids are better than Canadian kids. Canadian kids over 12, even the ones who are 16, would laugh at the girl that died from such an embarrassing mistake, make jokes about it... they certainly tried hard to embarrass me and never let me forget my embarrassing moments from first grade.
Oh, and my bf and I tried to have sex after our son was born but then HE COULDN'T GET INSIDE ME and it hurt like hell to try. I said, "Maybe they sewed me up too tight after [Lars] was born." He said "Nah; I doubt it." Finally, when we saw a doctor about it, he and the nurses who examined me confirmed that they had sewed me up too tight after Lars was born. From what I recall, it was a nursing student or an intern-- a student, anyway-- that had done the sewing, so it wasn't surprising. So my boyfriend and I planned to sue the hospital I had given birth at. But then I was examined by a nurse practitioner who was able to get two fingers inside me. She said I wasn't sewn up after all, that it was probably hormones that had made me too tight to fit anything in that was bigger than a tampon.

I've always cared about people on WP and still want to be a member there, at the time I didn't think much of Quatermass, but now he seems a saint compared to Sinsboldly, at least he didn't ban me even when I was insulting him. She's banning people for nothing. If Ana was gonna be banned for the things she writes, then it would've happened ages ago, cause she's always been the same way, and I like her. I don't have a problem with WP, I have a problem with SB. She's out of control, since she's got the power that she's always craved. I had time to spare back then, but don't now. I guess taste is pretty subjective as far as music is concerned, whether it's Joy Division, Radiohead or Iron Maiden. To me, the 60s & 70s had the best stuff - Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd, Rod & the Faces, Mike Oldfield, Jethro Tull, Stealers Wheel etc.
People are entitle to like whatever, so it's pretty pointless saying a band is shit just because you don't like them.... :zoinks:

The story behind that one is is that when they went to Rishikesh to see the Maharishi, Prudence Farrow (Mia's sister) wouldn't come out of her tent. So John decided to write Dear Prudence in an effort to get her to 'come out and play'. They later used it on the White Album.
BTW, it was covered by an Australian artist named Doug Parkinson not 6 months after the realease by the Beatles and went to top 10 in Australia.

It's the same problem I had with the majority of the AS groups on MySpace, anti-social behavior is not tolerated by moderators. Even in a forum designed for people with Asperger's Syndrome, anti-social behavior is not tolerated. Basically, you're free to be an Aspie who joins an Aspie forum as long as you don't behave like a typical aspie you should be fine.

Hence the reason I gave up on WP. I remember being 12 years old, missing multiple days from school to ride into the city with my parents so I could go through extensive testing by a neurologist, and after 5 of these 6 hour long testing sessions, they said that I had Asperger's Syndrome.
What gets me about WP is the fact that someone can skim through the Wikipedia article about Asperger's, say "yea, that sounds vaguely like me", then say that they believe they have Asperger's, and I'm supposed to just accept them as being true aspies and not tell them how full of shit they are?
I'm not supposed to question anyone's diagnosis even when they admit that they were never actually diagnosed with anything, that doesn't work in my brain.

I think the self diagnosed, you can say if they do or not because a self diagnoses doesn't count. They could have something else. So I don't think peoples opinions matter about if they have it or not.

The doc who dx'd me said that the adults who come to her often already know what they are. They will frequently have kids on the spectrum and recognise themselves in their offspring. Very different from the emos reading Wikipedia and self-dx'ing at 16 when the only thing they have is Adolescent Syndrome and too much time on their hands.

No problem with the self dx'd here, I've met enough Aspies at this point to pretty much know one when I see one, dx'd or not. A guy from my group had so much anxiety about being misdiagnosed (again) that he was talking about trying to get someone famous like Attwood to dx him, just so that his family would believe that he wasn't making AS up as some sort of get out of social faux pas free card. We finally steered him to a local doc who was hip to AS and got him a proper diagnosis, but it was really unnecessary as far as I was concerned, this guy just screamed ASPIE! at you if you talked to him for a few minutes.

I think that the big thing about a diagnosis is the ability to be a bit forgiving on yourself and not look at it as a cop out. I have always tried my best but mentally beat myself up on my shortcomings regardless. Now I say "Right you know why and what you suck at x, y, and z. You know the reason you have to work harder on these aspects. You know your success rate is not going to be great. Now if you happen to fail there is a reason why and you don't have to be confused and frustrated at your ineptitude."
Won't stop me doing things that require socialising. Won't involve trying new things that require change. When I stumble and fuck up though, I will be able to say. Cool, you tried and you know why it did not go as well as you would have liked. It is over and it is done and not requiring dwelling over or being confused.

If it's blatantly obvious that someone has AS and they say they "think" they "might" because of what they learned from their research, that's one thing. It's when someone shows no noticeable Autistic tendencies, yet declares that they absolutely are 100% Autistic beyond any shadow of a doubt yet won't cite the sources that made them feel that way that I have to draw the line.
I'm not saying that all those who are self-diagnosed are idiots, I just don't want to see AS go the same way as ADD did. I remember years ago when I was first diagnosed with ADD, it was fairly common, but not nearly to the extent it is today. Today there's so many people claiming to have it (to cover up laziness) that it's hard to take anyone seriously when they claim to have ADD or ADHD.
AS is already starting to reach the point where people just assume that anyone who claims to have it is just trying to hide their laziness or use it as an excuse for being an asshole. The thought of the one thing that makes the biggest impact on my life being ignored by the general public actually kind of scares me, my diagnosis has always been kind of my ace in the hole when someone (my boss or a cop for example) thinks I'm acting too weird to be sober.

There is supposedy a high number of people on the spectrum who are both ADD/ADHD and ASD. I was talking to a friend of mine who is a neuropsych and she was saying that there's a good portion of people who have one dx but miss out on the other because some professionals believe the two can't go hand in hand.
I'm ASD/SID, but my son is ASD/ADHD/TS/SID. I have to treat both his ASD and his ADHD in order to have him well balanced. Sorry.Bit of a tangent there. Your mention of ADHD reminded me of that issue in dx's.

Another member of one of those groups and I actually have a verbal presentation about owning your behavior that is aimed at people who are having difficulty with friends and family minimizing their problems, and lesson #1 is don't try to use the AS to get out of responsibility for anything. I personally think that most of the reasons someone will try to minimize or mock AS (doesn't everyone have social issues? etc) is that they think you're going to use it as some sort of shield for bad behavior, and if you make it clear that that's not your intent, they will tend to be more accepting of it. Just my $.02 though.

I was diagnosed with ADD too. I didn't know until my teens. I also had other labels; dyspraxia, SID, cluttering, language processing disorder and OCD got mentioned. I was afraid of sweat and dirt then and hated getting dirty. My mom didn't think it was important I knew. She didn't know what was wrong with me either despite all the labels and said the treatment I was getting wasn't working. I was even on the wrong medication for two years and I had high metablism because of it. Then when they took me off of it, I gained weight. I craved sugar. The pills all of a sudden changed me when I was 12 because my hormones changed. But before, I lost my apatite so I wasn't eating. I got thinner and was more tired and had to quit soccer because I didn't have the energy. I had other problems too being caused by the meds and then my parents took me off them and also took me out of school. The funniest thing about it was, kids were picking on me and gave me a nervous breakdown, they all of a sudden thought I was so lucky because I didn't have to go to school. Ha ha. It was like it all came back to them to haunt them. Got punished for their own meanness by causing me to have a huge break from school and now they were envying me. Call that karma. It was also the same year I got my AS diagnoses. It happened right after we got back from our family trip.

I have never heard of SID. I thought sensory problems were just part of autism.
I was diagnosed ADHD before HFA but the ADHD still makes sense as a diagnosis to me. I take medication for it and one of the best things about it is that it helps me communicate better verbally. I can tolerate social situations for longer as well.

I'd recommend talking to Makuranokoshi or DW_A_Mom, apparantly Alex slashed like half the mod team but left most of their moderator tags still on their profiles, and those are the only two that I know for sure are actually still mods, and they are also the ones that I talked to in order to return. IMHO the place is still far from perfect, but the atmosphere sans Sins is greatly improved.

I wonder if your banning was bogus too? Other people who have been banned from there are still not back. For some reason they can't get their bans uplifted. Even Violet Yoshi and KenM had no luck. Here's something else of interest to chew on; whoever banned my account messed with it in some way that the regular mods can't fix, the avatar and custom rank functions are both broken. It sort of narrows down the suspect list, since I doubt Alex himself would have taken enough interest in me to do that.
As to Ken and VY, I could see legitimate reasons for tossing them, they both seemed a bit unstable and on the bare edge of control at most times, what I've objected to is the longtime and otherwise rational members that have disappeared after rubbing a mod the wrong way. That sort of thing seems to have stopped for the moment, for reasons I'm sure we all can guess.

I wonder if your banning was bogus too? Other people who have been banned from there are still not back. For some reason they can't get their bans uplifted. Even Violet Yoshi and KenM had no luck. But I found both their bannings reasonable. My banning was bogus and it was done wrong I was never showed up as being banned.
Here's something else of interest to chew on; whoever banned my account messed with it in some way that the regular mods can't fix, the avatar and custom rank functions are both broken. It sort of narrows down the suspect list, since I doubt Alex himself would have taken enough interest in me to do that.
As to Ken and VY, I could see legitimate reasons for tossing them, they both seemed a bit unstable and on the bare edge of control at most times, what I've objected to is the longtime and otherwise rational members that have disappeared after rubbing a mod the wrong way. That sort of thing seems to have stopped for the moment, for reasons I'm sure we all can guess.

It was obvious it was her and Alex said she admitted it. If it was someone else that did it, I would have been unable to login my account again. But no it all happened while she was mod and I had an issue with her. Then after that I was having problems with my account. I thought it was maybe a glitch and I thought I was being paranoid by thinking it was her.
Alex demodded his mods and not all of them got their privileges back and Lau didn't get back his admin powers.

Don't get me wrong here, I've been calling for Sins to be demodded since long before your incident and I have no doubts that she was ultimately behind it, I'm just suggesting that she may not have acted alone. Unless she had far more access than a moderator normally would, she shouldn't have been able to full on delete accounts like what was done to yours, which suggest that either she got someone who did have that kind of access, or she was given that kind of access on the sly, either of which implicates Lau. I'm in no way suggesting that Sins was not the cause of all of your account difficulties, I'm just saying she probably had help.

I think you banned me as well. You weren't the first nor the last. I realised when I got a brand new internet service, in the back of my mind was a little voice saying "New IP. Troll places your were IP banned." but that voice just did not motivate me like it would have years ago
