Dirty blonde. We go gray eary on my dad's side of the family, but we maintain out hair. Prehaps if one takes care of themselves as much as me, that will not happen.

because i think the shrink will tell us that we are talking about the same exact things when we misunderstand each other. and that there is a deep seeded respect and a high level of competition between us.

I agree with most of that but I see myself more as stubborn than competitive. I think the reason we rub each up the other the wrong way sometimes is because in some ways we have similar personalities.

Mine has darkened with age. Brown, now, with some salty streaks, but when I was younger it was reddish/blonde highlights in light brown. It still bleaches out, reddish, in the summer sun, but that just shows the gray more.
UNfortunately, I now have this fucking hole (yes, it's a fucking hole from her being in the 'top' position a lot) in the back, so I buzz it down to a quarter inch a couple of times per month.

My hair is a medium brown that can look chestnut in the sun or ash-brown in dim light.

That happened to my mother in midlife, at some point during her graying. Her hair was brown in girlhood,
and when my sister referred to it being "black," apparently my mother insisted that it was brown. But what
wasn't gray, was a kind of "dusty" black, maybe a really dark brown just short of actual black.
The contrast it made with her gray/white hairs may have made it look closer to black than it was.
Interestingly, my brother's hair seems to have darkened in the same way, now that he is graying. :orly:

Way blonder than that. Nearly white as a little one. The colour that calf is having is what I had around 18 I think.

I was completely blonde and my ID says blonde. I was more specifically, dirty or sandy blonde. In my late teens these odd colored hairs started showing up and this taking over of my long, think, wavy blonde locks was devastating. But when my Mum died back in 2008, seeing as she dealt with her hair changing at an early age in the same fashion, I started seeing it as a nice reminder of her. But it is still awkward when I get a haircut and see it fall to the floor. I can always color it and my oldest minion colors her's all kinds of colors and has offered, but I haven't yet. I'd like to do blue, green, or purple. My eyes are blue, but people seem to push for purple.

People have always asked if I dye my hair, no matter colour it is. It was very red a few years ago to the point that a workmate asked what dye I used to make it so bright. Now that it is darker, people think I have brown hair.
