Title: Q&A
Post by: Untermensch on September 14, 2009, 09:31:55 PM
Ask me a question and I will answer it. I am not giving out some personal details, because I am a little concerned about internet privacy. I'm a future accountant and trying to build up a good offline reputation.

Where are you from and where are you going?

The first answer, the state of Victoria (It is a inland provincal city, not one on the coast, that is all I can reveal). Answer to the Second question, after graduation late next year, I am going to move back to Melbourne.

Which uni are you at?

One of the Latrobe University campuses, not the Bundoora (Melbourne) one.

Not terribly much, I chose Accounting because it was my main way of getting a well paying job. I did have the choice of doing Information Technology, but I find that more boring than accounting. Civil Engineering is out for me, because I tried it at the TAFE, hated every minute of it and dropped out.

I live in Rowville in Victoria, if you know where that is.

Cool, I know where Rowville is. I lived in Melbourne, Northern Suburbs to be exact as a teenager.

My wife lived in the Preston/Reservoir as a teen.

My wife lived in the Preston/Reservoir as a teen.

I was a Coburg/Brunswick boy myself, however that was in the late 90's/early 00's. I was born and spent my childhood years in Tasmania, Hobart to be exact. My life story is very complicated, for example; it would take pages and pages to explain it in full.

Anyway one of my friends is moving back to Hobart with his wife and kids come the new year. A year after they move back to Hobart, I might just follow them.

Why did you choose accounting?

Why did you choose accounting?

Various reasons, ranging from firstly, people say it would a good career choice for me. Secondly, I have not had much paid work experience and those jobs never lasted long and see Accounting as a way of getting a secure well paying job. Thirdly, I tried Civil Engineering at TAFE after I finished Year 12, it drove me nuts and Information Technology is pretty boring to me (more so than Accounting). Fourthly, I have some administration/office experience in the non for profit sector, means doing an Accounting degree is a good compliment to that experience.
