That's right banned for seemingly no reason from that tragic misery hole wangplanet. It's probably a good thing as I can't say it was ever a pleasant experience being there. Is it fun here? You never know maybe I'll become one of the 10 people who post on these boards ;)

Well that's just it nothing happened lol seriously no idea. Sent a message asking for a reason but I wont hold my breath. I'm a bit of a dick sometimes but I've not been more dickish in the last day or two than I have any other time while i was there.
I was going to say who I was but I fancy one of those fresh starts I keep hearing about so I'll keep it to myself for now. I'm a mystery man so I am! :P Didn't get to know anyone there didn't even post much so you probably never saw me but nice to meet you guys anyways :)

I'll tell you what else is a mystery, and that is which members of WP are banned or unbanned at any given time, because there is no visible indication. (Unless Alex himself has adorned their profile with the big red X.) Offending pictures, posts and threads get removed; no evidence is left on the public boards where it can be plainly seen. So we only have the banned person's word for it, really; the moderators who have done the foul deed :laugh: don't usually parade their reasons in public.
Well, only two three posts so far. You don't get no fresher than that! There's loads of fun to be had here, Zygomatic Major. Look around, post some more, enjoy yourself.

here you can tell who has asked to have their account deleted. they show up as guests in their posts.
as far as i know we don't make it a habit to ban or to delte posts. that is what alex does, not us.

And they expect us to be psychics about who has been banned. Talk about a WP member that is banned, you might get a PM saying it is against the rules to talk about banned members. Reply back saying you didn't know he or she was banned, you might get another PM and get accused of blowing off the mods. That's what happened with me. Then I was banned after that. I tell about it in the "Blocked from WP" thread.
Yes these mods have been told we don't know who has been banned so how are we supposed to know who not to talk about if we don't know who is banned. They don't listen. It's not that hard to understand or are they too stupid? Too stupid to listen because their TOM is that bad?
It be better to send a PM to inform the member that member is banned whom they talked about.

I think there needs to be consistency.
There needs to be some sort of order. A list to all of the current moderators.
"moderator" to be removed for the names of people who aren't.. it stll says it under PMS Elles name there.
and a red X and "banned" on every single member who is banned.
They can't tell you off for that.. its not fair if you can't tell who is or isnt banned.

I looked at some of my posts there and my avvy and profile doesn't have any mention of banning or look any different at all. I'd always thought a fair percentage of the 'new memebers' would be sock puppets and banned members returning.
I don't think it really is a support site it's more of a quagmire site, never ending shitfest and the more people they drag into it the better. Was it just me or did anyone else notice how the price of the server doubled all of a sudden? Or did I miss summat?

I think it's not that hard to join the band of the banned from WP. All you have to do is compare them to a bad daytime soap opera, for example.
I agree about the new members being mostly people making more and more sockpuppet accounts, either because their first accounts were banned or just to troll.

When you get unfairly banned, and then ignored. It doesn't leave people with a lot of choice. The bad words about Alex is spreading nicely accross the internet anyway.

I hear they're a ban party. Yeah some people do come back to troll who were once regular members there before they were banned. I've gone to forums and there were lot of banned members. The mods have no problem having banned in their profiles. I go to a forum where people get banned all the time because they are sock puppets or they lied about their age. It's amazing how often people lie about their age because they are that paranoid and then they join that forum and bam they're out of there once they're caught they have lied. I'm surprised I was never banned for saying I live in the Benny & Joon town in my profile as my location :LOL: Maybe putting down "I wish" told them I don't but still.
The nsider forums, I have no idea why people get banned. Maybe for breaking the rules.

Yeah, course it is. Thats why they keep locking threads, or deleting them, or posts. Trying to hide all the shit under the rug, but its getting full. A site can't be run that way.

Zygomatic Major how exactly were you banned? Were you unable to login and not recover your password or were you able to login and you couldn't see the board?

I wonder if it could be an coincidence then? It happened to Emor and Celtic Frost and then to his new account and we have all done something wrong. But what Emor did happened off WP.
EDIT: Okay I contacted Alex. I don't know if he will reply or not. If not, I can try PMing him and risk having my husband's account getting banned.

How does it work over at Spectrumites - does it cross out, grey them out...? I think it greys them out, right?
Either way, it's still better than WP's method - also, over at AFF at least, we don't ban or warn if you talk about old members, we'd just rather you kept a civil tongue about it, else folks might be liable to get a mite tetchy - if you do mention an old member in passing, fine, but if you start slagging them off, wheeeelll, things might get a bit more serious (though this depends on the members - trolls and fuckheads, sure, go ahead, but otherwise we don't encourage the whole talking behind peoples back thing - if you're going to stab someone in the back, have the balls to do it to their face, y'know?)

They are greyed out indeed on Spectrumites. I had to look for the greying option in the beginning. Because banning is not greying them perse. But as far I know, all banned members are grey now.
And well, an old member mentioned in passing, fine. But we are not encouraging talking about others behind their backs on Spectrumites either.
It is a mainly friendly place, and it should be, considering that we have children on there too, our youngest member being a 9 yo.
That's why we have an adult section for the things not meant for children to read.
It's not perfect, but hey, what's new, no place is.
