To save future mishaps with threads being lost to accidental deletion, Dunc's set up a thread recycling feature that directs deleted threads to a private forum that only the admins can access. However, posts that memebers delete will also end up there, so if there's anything you don't want to be read by the admins, edit it to remove the text before you delete it.

Tee hee hee... The_P said a silly comment.

This place used to work great. With lively discussion.
Let the trolls live. They are lonely people. The life you save may be worth saving.
-
In this case, it was just an idiot spamming in big red lettering. No discussion, just enough spam to stop whatever discussion there was. I don't think your freedom of speech should be allowed to hinder everyone else's.
-
WHAT'S WRONG WITH RED?
-
Nothing in itself, but too much of it makes the board hard to read.
-
Get rose colored lenses.
-
I think you are missing the problem. It's not the colour, it's how much of the spam there is. It happened to be red but green or black or blue would have resulted in the same thing.
-
Spam is ALWAYS kinda rose-colored. :)
-
Was this part of the failed democracy experiment?
-
What part of it?
-
I dunno. Whole thread didn't make sense to me. When I come across really old posts that don't make sense I assume they are from back when this place used to be a hippy commune.
-
The OP was clear enough. Deleted posts aren't deleted, but are simply moved to a hidden forum only admins can see. Still true now.

I've never seen a post deleted here.

Only the admins can see them.

I have had my massive, harsh temper flare up a few times at various members and after a few minutes of going from hard boil to slow simmer, I have deleted a few posts, knowing full well, even before this thread was created that my posts were not actually deleted, only restricted from public view after my deletion.
This is the degree of absolute trust I have shown the administration of this site. My fuck ups remain mine.

There's no need for trust. As stated in the OP of this thread, editing the post before deleting it prevents it from being read.

I don't ever even look at the deleted posts. I don't really see the point--if they were deleted, there was a reason and so I'd rather spend my time with the posts that people thought would be worth my while.
In fact, that thread should be deleted. :orly:

Wouldn't that create a logical loop?

Wouldn't that create a logical loop?
It would mean the end of the board as we know it.

Like a tiny black hole spinning inside the database.

We would all start to make sense. :zoinks:

I've deleted a few of my posts for reasons, 1) that they were a waste of my time or 2) of no value to anyone else! My posts, my call!
-
:dunno: Makes sense to me.
