Title: Ask CuriousPrimate Anything (but hijack the thread as often as possible)
Post by: CuriousPrimate on May 17, 2006, 01:16:34 AM
OK, lets upset the anal retentives by making an 'Ask someone' thread which you are required to hijack and talk about yourself instead.

All post whores are invited.

See what a troublmaker I can be?  I am not even trying that hard. I am not being considerate, because I know some but not all have trouble with pronouns. Is it an add thing or is it the change in nouns that bothers you guys?  I am just asking because I don;t have that problem. I am supposed to be one of them.  I don;t want people to get the idea I am an attention whore.  What troll I will be.

Flooding the chatroom refers to talking alot without waiting sufficently for others to respond.  I am sorry, but I do it because I sometimes think I can carry on a conversation.  This cause my mind to race and thus be very chatty.  Having good mood allowes this too.

What are you doing fluorescent that makes you a troll?

What inspired you to make a thread that people are supposed to hijack?
When was the last time you used dental floss, and did you use it to floss or for some other purpose?
What is the stupidest thing you've heard asked yet in one of these threads?
Title: Re: Ask CuriousPrimate Anything (but hijack the thread as often as possible)
Post by: Randy on May 17, 2006, 10:14:23 AM
Well not really, because I was answering two seperate ideas. You asked me about flooding the chatroom, and what I was going to prove.

Cool thread idea, Curious Primate!

Fluorescent, what difference does it make to you if QuirkyCarla has a boyfriend if you and she are friends?  Does every female on the board need to inform you of her relationship status?  For the record, I am happily married, but I believe PostPerson may be unattached, although she does have dogs.  Her avatar is an actual unretouched photo of herself from when she was younger, so she looks a lot like Linda Blair.   :o

PMS Elle, I used dental floss last night to floss my teeth right after I brushed them.  I have used it to sew on a button before because it is stronger than ordinary sewing thread, but I usually just use it to floss my teeth.

The worst question I have seen so far on one of these Ask Anything threads was the one McJagger asked about you and Thagomizer growing old together.  How could he expect you to do anything other than evade the question?

I already said this.? I am going to try for more than friends, but not by bugging her.? I am going to try and get a job and go to college.? You point me the direction of someone else with so much in common and I will be on in 2 seconds.? Grow up, this is normal behavior, besides I am not sexually harassing anyone.  She worth me flying down just to say hi, as a friend.

I asked her out along time ago.? She never mentioned a word about Sean, and she Knew I liked her real bad. (If Sean is her boyfriend)? Since day one as friends till now, I have not herd a word about Sean as her boyfriend. (If that is what he is) I don;t think she had Sean from the begining, and just decided to leave me out in the cold for selfish reasons. She did say I did not have a shot, but that could mean a few different things, but probably boyfriend.  I guess I did not want to believe.

I had a picture that I thought would make a great avatar, and the name sneaked up on me. I'd never heard of Curiouis George until a couple of years ago in regards to my brother-in-law.

I also like the idea of being on a slightly different evolutionary track to humans...

Imagine this:  You get a phone call at about 1 in the morning.  When you answer the phone, a low, raspy voice says,  "I know who you are and I know what you did," then proceeds to describe the contents of the current room you are in in perfect detail.  How do you react?

i an thinking a six pack of cola.
notice the roundedness of his midsection. like a spare tire for a tractor.
the thing with beer is that it all sits up front.

the spare tire comes from too many calories, day in and day out.

next question:

how do you suppose that guy 'does it'?

and how many years since he has been able to see his own erect penis in the shower, without the aid of a mirror?

At least five years since he saw his penis, and double that time since he saw his toes. And now, his penis and his toes have about the same function.

Use your imagination and think how you 'do it' with a nine-months-pregnant woman.  I think he would 'do it' much the same way if his belly got in the way as if hers did.

i must confess that i am not that aroused by my wife when she is very pregnant.
i think its psychological or something.  i think i am going to be stabbing at the fetus or something.

i know its juvenile, but thats what i think.  and i am not boasting of size either.

and i will admit another thing. i am fascinated by the extra large breasts, though.

I think I was neither. I was a rebel if somebody wanted me to do something I didn't want to do, but mostly I just didn't care. I was the kid that was only ever noticed if somebody wanted me to "participate" instead of letting me be.

Of course, school bullies noticed.  :-\

It's tried and true, actually. My wife swears by it, and things got a lot better between us when she accepted that this is how I work and stopped trying to get a "yes" on the first attempt.

Ah, page two. What a dismal sentence for such an illustrious old fossil as me. Perhaps its just an indication of how tame this site has become, (even with McJagger playing the planker with someone's avatar).

I shouldn't complain really, since I've been a bit busy and not shown my face much recently.

One advantage in working as a writer/journalist is that you can do stuff you really enjoy, so yes it has been interesting. Writing (separately) about the development of Apartheid, World War II in north Africa, and whether South Africa is involved in rendition - a Pakistani citizen was bundled into a plane on a SA Air Force base several months ago with the collusion of the Department of Home Affairs and has not been heard from since - it has been suggested that he was a terrorism suspect.

The big problem is that after a few days there is a fair bit to catch up on with 'Intensity For Squares', and many of the amusing quips I think of have already been used later on in threads.

That does mean that the site is apparently more active than I thought, which is good.

Not enough hijacking though!

cos i'm never particularly happy talking about my private self with people i don't know and trust.  i do go on about myself endlessly, of course, but only the surface levels.  the rest of me stays between me, myself, and, occasionally, any unfortunate whom i've decided to trust.  you can tell who they are - they have huge, red throbbing ears, a dazed expression, and and urge to emigrate.

we just recieved the funding to produce the first annual I? Calender, and you have been selected to model for and represent one month.

Which month would you choose, and why?
and would you pose scantily clad, or bare chested?

Ape-ril

And as nature intended (but not as I actually ended up 'cause Gaea wouldn't have been that cruel!)

... and and urge to emigrate.

I've already done this last part. Can we do the rest in reverse order?

no problem - how are you at dazed expressions and throbbing ears?

:P

Think 'embarrassment' rather than 'embarrassment of riches'.

I can think of other reasons for having throbbing ears, but I don't think I'd have a dazed expression... more intent or all consuming I would expect ?

What is it about the particular way you live your life that makes you most proud?

Damn a question that actually floored me. One problem I have with this is that I spent most of my life not knowing why I was the way I am, and it deeply affected me ? depression, 'mental breakdowns', a couple of suicide attempts. I guess that the fact I survived should be enough to make me proud, but it doesn't.

I feel a brief burst of pride when I write something outstanding. It lasts until the next thing I write, which happen-as-not is usually complete crap and needs several revisions.

What I feel most proud about is having been able, despite all the above (para. 1), to provided a foundation for my partner M to grow and develop. True I think she would/could have achieved it all without me, but she tells me, usually when I most need to hear it, that I have helped make it possible. And since the feeling is mutual I am able to believe it.

I am intensely proud that the travel book she had published this year has already gone for a second reprint.

This has been far too serious for me ? I much prefer being irreverent.

been thinking aboutthis since yesterday, and would like your opinion...

i believe you are a Pratchett fan.  (if not, then i've gone completely senile, probably due to over-self indulgence...).

so, what do you think of the idea of Death (or should i say, DEATH) as an aspie? has this been posited before?

oh, and it's Hijack City here, anyone can answer, cos i'm intrigued.

Ook, ook!

Any character that comes out with the line:

"I THINK THE ELLIPTICAL CAM HAS GRADUALLY SLID UP THE BEAM SHAFT AND CAUGHT ON THE FLANGE REBATE, WITH DISASTROUS RESULTS" (Reaper Man page 211)

and actually be talking about engineering is probably AS.

(Hell, he even knows what a three-eighths gripley is for!)

Do you believe that some form of morality (not the ability to accept morality, but actual moral tendencies) can be, or is, present in humans regardless of what they have been taught and exposed to?  In simplistic terms, are some morals hard-wired in some or all humans?  Elaborate on this your answer as much as you like.

Depends upon the interpretation of morals. If you mean the ability to distinguish between right and wrong or good and evil, I would have to say that I see man being born as a selfish creature who learns to deal with society. That means accepting society's rules, learning to share, and to compromise, and to negotiate.

But I'm pretty sure that everyone has their own view of what is right and wrong, and what is evil and good. That society is an old-fashioned style dance where individuals come together, hold hands for a while in mutual support, and then part and move on to the next partner. The process may take years for individual aspects of moral awareness to segue from one stance to another, and that if enough people conform to the same stance then society gets a new definition of what is right or wrong.

Religion: apathetic, agnostic, atheist, believer?
Do you believe in a higher power?
If so what made you believe in it, what form do you think it takes, what makes you believe it takes that particular form?
If not, how do you feel about the people who do believe, whats your general attitude towards them?
