I've been doing some research and found my way onto this channel. I know that this guy is about as trustworthy as a gloryhole in a public bathroom, so I wanted to verify.

I tried searching and nothing came up on here, so I wanted to double check.

Well, my condolences. I remember Scrapheap from back in the day and it was shocking when I heard.
Thanks for the clarification.
-
Still won't be sad as Randy Watson dying
But rip scrapheap. I knew when I came back somebody would be dead
And wow was I right,
-
Yeah, R.I.P. Scrap. Good eulogy from Peaguy.
-
So sorry to hear about this. Absolutely heartbreaking news.
I always got on well with him, right the way back to when I first joined the site. Must be nearly 10 years now.
In those days, this site was a big part of my life, and Scrappy was a big part of the site.
His sense of humour was juvenile and inappropriate, but I found him amusing and endearing.
RIP Scrappy.
-
Rest in Peace good sir
-
Respect for his service should be noted.
No high rank or anything, but, Kosovo? FUCK!
Hats off. Moment of silence.
RIP, Scr'eap!
-
Oh I didn't know it was Kosovo.
Respect.
-
That's what he said, a long time ago.
-
That's what he said, a long time ago.
He opened up a bit when we sat across a table from each other on our third Newcastle Brown Ale.
We both brought a six pack of the beer we had talked about online after Dunc's recommendation.
Had not tried it before the recommendation. I was a Guinness guy when it came to darks.
Kosovo damaged him.
-
Newcastle is nice but I do prefer Guinness to it.
He knew his beer, though, Scrap. Think he was into some Belgian beers, too.
-
RIP Scrapheap. Thank you for introducing me to Christopher Hitchens and your particpation here

Thought of him yesterday while dropping off stuff at the air and space museum and took this of the corsair they have. It was the type of plane flown by Pappy Boyington who he used as his name here awhile. Nobody's really gone till people stop thinking about them

Wondering if that plane is anything like the five that disappeared in 1945 - Flight 19, I believe they were known as.

The same plane! Yes, the mystery of Flight 19.
-
No, it's not.
Boyington flew in a F4 Corsair, and Flight 19 consisted of Grummand Avengers.
The folding wing is a key indicator that this is a corsair fighter rather than the torpedo bomber.

Pretty sure Flight 19 had folding wings.
-
I was thinking of Scrap today as I was driving down by the Airbase in Newington NH. They are having an Air show with that group of stunt jet fighters.....Thunderbirds or Blue Angels..this weekend. They were flying low and loud, something Scrap would have loved.

Yeah, they do. They don't have that sharp angle though.

I don't believe New Hampshire as I've never met anyone from there or who has been there. I think it's a completely made up place. Like Narnia, Hogwarts, and Rhode Island.

He's dead?
It's always surreal to me when online regulars I've known for years are dead, but their profiles remain.

It gets real creepy when Facebook sends you birthday notices for them :zombiefuck:

Yeah, that happened to me after a couple of friends passed away.

I agree. I'm still skeptical, not that I overly care if he is dead but something doesn't add up here
-
No I don't think anything is going on - I mean as in their remnants online make it surreal. Things like automatic facebook notifications and such. Almost makes it like a ghost. I felt the same when previous people I knew online died eg. Starbuline.
I mean, I'd love to think it's all an elaborate prank to troll people, mainly because it's no secret that I didn't like him, but I'll take people's word on here.
-
Oh I see. I still think something donesnt add up here, I have a few FB friends that have passed away, and I might rather like getting notifications from them. Makes me go back to their page and think of them
-
The ghosts on the internet give me a way to pretend I can still communicate with them.
-
You're sending PMs to them every week?1
-
The occasional messages sent to absent members has also included sending PMs to members known to be deceased. Same message as anyone else. You should come back.
-

Well....it was that high with my past wife for some time. And I still send her things I know she would have enjoyed.
email, rather than PMs. It was a habit I was in when she was alive and in the same house. Helps somehow.
Others never so much. Usually a message or two for whatever, but they weren't intrinsic to my life.
-
That's really sweet, Calandale.
-
RIP Scrapheap.
-
It's been that long since I last heard from him?
Last time I heard from him was when this forum disappeared and pea guy telling him to move on and let it go on Aspies Central.
RIP.

^ Wow, he’s nothing like I expected at all.
-
I think peaguy when we were friends on Facebook (If he reads this, I’m more than happy to be friends with him again. We were both going through a rough time, I won’t say what his reasons were, to protect his privacy), scrapheap asked to be friends with me through him on FB. I declined because although I liked him I didn’t want him to troll me, or something.
I’m thinking now, aww Hell, I’ve only just remembered that. :( I would’ve spoken to him if I knew he was going through that rough a time. Oh Hell. :( Fuck.
-
Before we had our falling out, he showed me a picture of a plot of land that he had recently bought and was going to build on it. R.I.P Scrap, we had our differences, but, we shared a lot of the same interests. :'(
-
He didn't seem that old, but RIP dude.

I wonder if coronavirus got him. Hopefully it wasn't suicide

So sorry that his father would survive him. No parent should have to. :(

It is the worst feeling for any parent to survive their child.

This just reminds me of how fragile life is. Nothing else matters except your health

Only lasted quite week and a half but I finally was able to walk after a few days after being in agonizing pain :zoinks:
