Back is slowly getting better but it hurts in new places, too.

Speaking of getting older, what about morning stiffness of joints? Is that me and my psoriatic arthritis or is that something that would have happened anyway?
For me, it's my arthritis

Arthritis sucks. What variety is yours?

Osteo in my knees. They constantly grind now and they've been telling me I'm a candidate for a total replacement (both knees) since I was in the my early 30's but of course I'm too young so putting it off as long as possible. I should probably get injections to help but it gives me the heebie jeebies so I haven't done it yet.

Ouch, my sympathies.

I've had injections go wrong so they don't always help. To be fair, it's rare. Having it go wrong for a jaw joint was no fun, though.

My mum is 72 and has had both knees replaced.

I didn't know there was an age that's too young to have it done. What's the earliest age that it can be done?

They put it off for as long as possible because the younger you are, the more revision surgeries you would need over time since the knee wouldn't last the rest of your natural lifetime. I don't think there's a hardfast age, but it would be rare to do it under 40. I know people in their 50's who have been declined.

Think for me it's age. Probably some arthritis, surely some arthrosis in the mix.

Waking up stiff and in pain. Thought it was age, but turns out for me it was weight.

I've lost a lot of weight this year and something my doctor told me is that for every 1 pound of weight that you lose, you decrease 4 pounds of pressure off of your hips and knees. That definitely helps.

So, now my hips and knees are 40 kg less stressed?

both still act up. But, would like to drop another 10 kg next year.
Who knows, I might end up without painful spots in my legs. Feet are the worst, lately.

That is indeed the case. My plantar fasciitis still acts up in my feet but I'm finding that it doesn't happen as often or last as long.

Have lost a lot this year too. The pressure on joints makes sense while awake and mobile, but never considered the pressure of simply laying on myself while sleeping. The difference is surprising.

Well, that's my view of them. I'll wait until I'm desperate.
