From what I've seen, the media was split on this issue--several newspapers considered the acquittal as the only sensible option.

How would you know if socialists were upset, rather than the conservatives, btw? Have you seen a poll to this effect?

I haven't seen a poll, but on different political forums you can see that most people who were upset and called it "getting away with murder" were social democrats or left partists. They are usually pro the monopoly of the State to use violence, when it not comes to things like those on this picture, of course.

Wouldn't that simply show that a certain kind of people frequents a certain kind of forum?

Maybe. But if a forum contains both liberals, conservatives and socialists in about the same proportions as IRL, it at least indicates that socialists might dislike the acquittance more than other people do. But the majority is still in favour of the Court's decision, I believe.

Yes, statistically speaking, if the forum was large enough, and had members from every significant social group or formation within the society you attempt to model. A small forum, however, such as Intensity, wouldn't be nowhere near as large.
