The problem my mother had with the men building their house is they wouldn't listen to her so she had to tell dad to tell them for her since they would listen to him. Why wouldn't they listen to her? Because she is a woman.

That is extremely common in construction  and I have gotten jobs because the other salesmen wouldn't listen to a woman or asked to speak to her husband

Some automobile mechanics are really bad about this too.

I've been pretty lucky with the people who have done work on our house, though.

I would hire almost all of them again if I needed to in the future and I recommend almost all of them if I know someone else who needs work.

I would live in it, do a bit of converting. Everyone is wanting one of those city apartments and that building is empty. It seems a waste.
