I saw theses photos on the web with the caption "Why men Die Early"
I know for a fact that these things do happen and have participated in some myself

No with the hope of not dieing early.  Today I put a ladder on top of a scaffold that was too short then climbed up on top of heating ducts that were hanging from the ceiling to reach part of a wall that was otherwise inaccessible  all at about 16 feet up

Sounds kind of fun, actually. I love climbing. Wouldn't want to do that kind of shit as a career choice though, that would be stacking the odds against myself and asking for trouble.

I'm terrified of heights. Even tiny ones. Still,
I've done some construction work. Never more
than a couple stories up. I think my fear makes
me far more likely to fall.

That is the way it usually works

My social anxiety makes me more likely to do embarrassing things

I am always walking to the edge of things,
and want to jump.

I know someone else like that. Something came over them one time, and they tried it. Split their skull open and damn near killed themselves.

Not to feed your fear or anything.  :P

Yeah. I really think that's WHAT my fear is.
I know I want to jump.

Probably figure I can fly, or something.

Dunno. How does death by falling rate on the perfection scale?

I am always walking to the edge of things,
and want to jump.

I do that at times too.  I once stood on the edge of a shear cliff over 400 feet high leaned out and looked straight down and tossed a rock watching it till it hit the ground
