Weird creatures. Dunno what to think of them. :-\

And here I thought those things only came in computer games and bad sci-fi movies.

Have we gotten to the twenty first century without knowing much of these primitive creatures or have circumstances come into play to cause them to re-evolve, recently?

I understand they don't need much oxygen (which may mean they have more tolerance for carbon compounds in their respirant?) and can survive for hours without breathing.

I ought to. I bet it would get me some good reference images to use in the design of computer games and bad sci-fi movies.
