Thanks.  Yeah, I'm not on any drugs either.  There's no magic pill for CPTSD.  Just have to own it and deal.

Actually, I read about a trial using propranolol for PTSD that had a single incident that triggered it, I think.

It made the person hyperfocus less on the traumatic incident that caused the PTSD.

This is not the article that I saw, but it has some more information about it:

Yeah, I've heard about that too.  Sounds promising, if the trauma was something sudden & discrete like rape or a natural disaster.  Interesting how adrenaline apparently sets and intensifies frightening memories - makes sense.
hats off to the man on top of the world
come crawl up here baby, and we can watch this damn thing turn

When someone dies at home, do police always take photos of the body?

police only get involved at all if there's suspicion of foul play.

What if it was an accident or suicide?
And a police chaplain person was there?
Do they take pictures then, or are they just there to check what happened?

taking photos suggests to me they suspect something untoward, cos photos are used for evidence, forensic analysis, etc.

I was watching Real Life Crime Scene Investigation and it was making me paranoid so I had to change the channel

It's just a routine part of the forensic examination.  No big, just making sure all the angles are covered and it's very routine.

What do they do with the pictures afterwards?

It becomes part of your patient record.  No big, just a way to follow any possible problems that may occur.  Or for possible evidence in case foul play is proven.  It's no big deal.

What about ones that get on the internet though?
I've seen sites with photos on it of people who's killed themselves, pictures that were taken at the scene after it happened. How do people get hold of them?

Cell phone camera's make everybody a paparazzi these days.  And it's something that creeps me out just thinking about it.  The fact that my family could be cell phoned camera'd by a potential creepazoid just going out to dinner/lunch is enough to make me  very wary.

It creeps me out as well
I am paranoid about myself, but not too bothered really. But when it comes to other people like family and people I care about, it really messes with my head. I hate thinking that someone could take pictures like that of them. There were pictures on this site of people who'd hanged themselves and things. I wouldn't want a picture like that of someone I love on the internet.

My paranoia's disappeared completely when I had the police search my room and belongings.

That, and the last shreds of my dignity  ::)

They went through my knicker drawer ffs!

To protect my family, I wouldn't hesitate to commit an act of violence.  When it comes to their safety, ethics, principles, integrity are superflous.    :grrr:
