Music dependence
« on: March 20, 2008, 12:33:59 PM »
Here's a quiz to gauge your level of psychological dependence on music.

1.  How many hours a day do you spend listening to music?

2.  How much do you think you spend on music in a typical month?

3.  Have you ever committed criminal acts to secure musical material (theft, copyright infringement)?

4.  If yes to 3, are you a habitual offender?

5.  Do you become distressed when you can't access music?

6.  If yes to 5, what's the longest period that you can comfortably go without music for?

7.  Do you find yourself altering your normal routine to engage in music?

8.  Do you think you could quit listening to music?

I'm the wrong person to ask about this.

My entire life has mostlly been about music. Even my other hobbies were made into parallel trajectories to what ever I was doing in music at the time.

I actually made my music dependent upon me, instead of the reverse, for about half of my life.

Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

1. as many as possible.

2. next to fuck all, primarily because I don't have much (and the internets is full of free music).

3. *question declined on legal advice*

4. see above.

5. yes, particularly if a session has to be cut short.

6. no idea.

7. music is already ingrained in my routine, but I have been known to steer events to allow me more music time.

8. not while I have functioning ears... and even then I'd probably have music in my head.

...do I win £5?  :zoinks:

When I worked locally, I had a decent following of deaf patrons who sat up front and enjoyed my bass system to the fullest.

I enjoy tactile music.
