actually they're happy when they're starving but when they're dying they are sad. :laugh: and they keep on dying until you feed them. mine were dying for years.

really?  why do you think that is?

Not sure. I seem to consider computers as potentially alive as people. If they're giving off the same signals of sentience, I don't use how the systems operate to produce the signals as criteria of whether it's a "real person" or not.

A digital pet is fucked over worse than an IRL pet if it's being neglected, because it doesn't have the communication means to bark or yowl in a way that passers-by might hear. It's completely isolated, in a completely rigid system.
