I don't know. Couldn't an admin do that anyhow?
Why don't they?
I would not do that. No one would be happy with that. As admin, I would prefer to do good for the site, not bad to it.

So, why would members be different?
I mean long standing ones.

Hell, we survived Pea, Myself, and others,
whom one would think would do crap.

Since this is turning into a real discussion,
I'm unlocking (and unstickying) it.
HaHA! It worked! My little plan worked!  :evillaugh:
 :P

Indeed. This is what abuse of power can do.
Spoiled my joke (wouldn't have stickied it
if dunc hadn't ruined it, in the first place).

Hell, obviously THIS member desired to
have the thread remained locked. That
kinda underlines your point, but it also does
mine - members who care for the site, won't
damage what they deem important.

So, who WOULD fuck with what's important?
The only choices I could see are those who
actually are opposed to the freedoms here.
Is anyone so? I don't know. Sometimes, it
seems as though there are those who are,
based upon their votes when we had the WC -
but, I honestly can't believe that those who
voted such things as the fiat poll into existence
actually meant what they were doing. Just like
I don't actually believe (given the lack of outcry
from anyone but myself) that many actually MEANT
that they'd want us not to have elected officials.

But hell, when revisited, more people again voted
against the election. Maybe the membership can't
be trusted.

This site was crashed before and that was done by a long standing member.

Yes. Meltdowns are a problem.
Hell, that was an admin. Honestly,
I'd rather suspect that the admins
tend to be dangerous. Anyone invested
enough to run a campaign - to care enough -
is actually MORE of a threat, if they feel they
don't get their way.

Might be why some didn't see elected admins
as a good idea.
