When we went it rained for 3/4 of the vacation But I guess it's because we went picked a dumb time to go, October.

October isn't normally a rainy time of the year for Florida.   In the summer it rains here almost every day for at least an hour.   At least you weren't here (Florida) during July or August when the temperatures can get over 100F and have 100% humidity.   It is hell walking on pavement then.   The winters are pretty temperate in comparison.  I am surprised it rained that much in October.

Someone told us it was the hurricane season in October lol.  I didn't mind the rain though, it was pleasant because it was nice and warm although it didn't help with going to the beach   Plus I never got to see a shark Or an alligator for that matter.

It is during hurricane season, but you don't see lots of rain unless a hurricane is off shore.   I hate sharks, but they are avoidable if you don't go out too deep (Tiger sharks attack people here every once in a while).  Alligators, you have to be near a swamp to observe.   Okefenokee swamp and other nature reserves usually have some alligators.   The Alligator farm is near St. Augustine, and that has tons of Alligators and Crocs.   They once had a giant one called Gomek that was 18 feet long that died not too long ago.   Now they have one called Maximo that is 15 feet long.

We went past a few swamps especially to see one but none graced us with their presence I googled Maximo and Christ, he's huge.  I'm trying to imagine what Gomek must have looked like
