I can't believe I'm still the only No vote.

Is it the texture that puts you off them? I have that problem with peas and lima beans...and *shudder* OATMEAL... :zombiefuck:

I had issues with food textures more when I was younger. Like most things, I figured out I must be missing out on something, so pushed through.

One thing I will never enjoy though is watermelon. Somehow it deceives my senses. It tastes like paint to me.

Peas were yuck, but I love them now. And tomatoes, the gooey seeds, yuck. Didn't start eating tomatoes raw until I was 25, now I love them.

I read somewhere (will look it up later) that taste buds become less sensitive to bitter flavors over time, which is why a child who hates broccoli may grow up to love it. It's worth trying hated childhood foods again in adulthood, I suppose, but the oatmeal loathing will never die!

^Agree with the oatmeal, or any sweet mush or goo for that matter.
Rasin bran cereal is okay, but otherwise not a huge fan.

I feel your pain.  I must be the only person on the planet who doesn't like cinnamon and nutmeg (together or separately).  Yuck.

I think it's a combination of everything about them. They look like droppings, the texture is the wrong kind of fibrous, the taste is wrong, and they are too small and fiddly. Plus I'm not a huge fan of grapes either, or wine.

I don't know how to contribute to a raisin conversation.

Tomorrow the topic will be dates, followed by prunes, dried apricot and pineapple, in that order.

 :agreed:

We have some from a date farm in southern California and they freeze well, too.

These are very interesting topics to me (clean, safe and good) but I still don't know how to contribute to a conversation about them. It seems difficult and when I can't come up with anything it makes me feel even more stupid than I already am. I am told I am a fucktard, the first part being false but the second part being true. I'm a tard and proud of it.

Interesting about raisins...they smell like cigarettes! :o

And wood chips smell like brown sugar.
