Proud Mum here.

Saw my daughter leave the house for her first day in her new school. More eager than dreading.

I'm quite confident that she will be alright.

If I'd had a cable modem, I would have gone out of my mind not having internet access!  :zombiefuck:

:) Not everyone will realise what a big step leaving the house on her own is.

She came home overwhelmed and tired, but did really well. She did need complete withdrawal for a while though.

Her mentor called in the evening to check up on how she had been doing.
He told me she had amazed him by how she had had no problems getting in front of the new class doing something.

The way this new school is supportive is surprising me in a good way.

I hope this is the first of many bright wonderful days for her.

Glad to hear that. All too often schools are the cause of those other kinds of surprises.

Indeed. But, sofar, they have been really good. And that due to all kinds of things there is no official support plan and funding does not seem to bother them at all.
