There are shelves with glass doors, meant to show things without getting dusty. That may be a good solution for you.

Hadn't thought of that. We have stuff like that downstairs

Only problem is most of the ones like that are kinda poncey-looking. I like just standard fruniture with no fancy stuff

I want my room spacy enough to enjoy a bit amount of clutter, so that it will look lived in. I'm no fan of sterile rooms at all. But, I would like some more free space.
I've put myself on a full-wheely bin regime. If I was careful, I could do two months with only once bringing the grey wheely bin to the curb-side (we have a green one for the things that will rot) Now I have to fill the grey one to the brim every two weeks. Does make a difference in the house. Slow, but very steady progress.

There are very simple ones too. Straight lines, and nothing more to it than absolutely needed. They look really good.

I will have a look for some if I buy anymore furniture. Right now I can't afford to though except something cheap to sit on now I'm stacking my books on Flo's stool

 That is the key, de-hoarding consistently.  It won't all be done in a day or on a weekend, but a little at a time.  :viking:
