Me too.  We did not want to buy a house with an active home-owner's association for this very reason.  We already have pretty restrictive city laws and that is bad enough, IMO, without having some HOA Nazis policing our neighborhood.

So far the little organization down the street has only done positive things, here in my neighborhood, but the HOAs are Nazis here, too. Most of the new housing comes with an HOA and there is nothing you can do about it.

Usually I am inclined to believe The Man is always at fault, but I dont think even the dumbest most arrogant and idiotic policeman could think he could get away with hitting an elderly woman for such a minor infraction, so in this case I think it is more likely she did fall, or he was raising his hand as she was falling and it hit her or some combination of unfortunate circumstances.

That happenned like 45 minutes south of where I live.  She's hired Gloria Allred to sue the city - I say good for her.  It's so ridiculous - it's like 110 degrees here and we live in a fucking desert.  The cops should fuck off and leave her alone.   ::)

About the only thing good about Orem is that the people rationalize prescription drug recreation as alright, because it's not specifically prohibited by the Mormon Church and there are legal ways to get it.
