I think I was neither. I was a rebel if somebody wanted me to do something I didn't want to do, but mostly I just didn't care. I was the kid that was only ever noticed if somebody wanted me to "participate" instead of letting me be.

Of course, school bullies noticed.  :-\

I've always said "if you want me to do something, ask, expect a no, and then ask again in 15 minutes"...

It's tried and true, actually. My wife swears by it, and things got a lot better between us when she accepted that this is how I work and stopped trying to get a "yes" on the first attempt.

My son is the same. I suppose it's an Aspie thing. Great genes.  ;D

lol, I never thought of it that way... only my kids havent accepted 'no, not right now' as an answer yet unfortunately. I hate being broken off something :P

My wife can't stand the "no, not right now". A straight "no" is OK, but not the "not right now", for some strange reason.

Ah, page two. What a dismal sentence for such an illustrious old fossil as me. Perhaps its just an indication of how tame this site has become, (even with McJagger playing the planker with someone's avatar).

I shouldn't complain really, since I've been a bit busy and not shown my face much recently.
