Coffee is funny. It makes me feel ill.
Yeah, I drink a LOT of it, but tea
never has the same effect.

I don't know if you can get it there or not, but Colace is a stool softener, which sounds like something you could use.

I always start my mornings with tea.  I haven't noticed any laxative effect with it though.  My doc gave me some lactulose solution, but I only got a tiny bottle of it, so I'll need to talk to him again.

I know someone who drinks hot water with a slice of lemon in the mornings and it makes her go.  I think there is something about a warm drink that stimulates the bowels, but I think hot coffee or tea work better for me.

How much are you drinking every day, Peter?  If you increase your fiber, you need to drink more liquids too or it could actually make your constipation worse.

A few litres a day, plus my food has a lot of water in it.  The only thing that's changed recently is that I'm now on two different medications that both have constipation as a side-effect.  I haven't changed my water or fibre intake.

I don't drink coffee very often.   The occasional time I drink coffee, it has never had any effect on my bowel movements.
