I bought my son a fairly modest stereo of his own for use in his bedroom.
He has a Sony five disc changer, a one hundred watt per channel receiver and brand new bookshelf speakers, all his own. This is a perk he deserves for finishing school as well as he did. We had many troubles during the year, but once the chips all felll, his grades were quite improved and TBH, outstanding.
He is probably the only eleven year old boy in town who has his own component stereo system.
I made him put it all together on the kitchen table for now (to make sure it all works, etc. this is not only a perk, but an exercise for him. He did it !)
Tomorrow, we will spend some time actually installing it into its home and mounting the speakers. (I will drill holes in the wall to mount his speakers properly, run the speaker cables, but he will do the rest of the hook ups.)
