Yeah it will eat your social life.   Just as bad as any MMO almost.  The timesinks in it has more of a pick up and play quality than most.   Rest xp and the like.   FFXI is far worse, same goes for Lineage II.   Those will eat your soul if you let them.
WoW will eat your soul too. I've literally had my best friend last year on my birthday tell me that he couldn't go out with me on my birthday beacause he had to raid Molten core.

he is a fucking douche.

I missed my best friend's wedding... I have known him since we were 5 years old.   I HAD to do Dynamis-Xarcabard.   I played 60 hours a week for almost 4 years.....

I'm on The Underbog...  it's the server that the dude who gave me the free pass was on.  I got up to level 16 over last weekend... but have just been fucking around since then.  Mining and blacksmithing.

it depends where you measure from.  if it is everything that will penetrate i would add another half inch.
