anyway, if we tell him it's a spiderman jumper, he'll be too excited to worry, especially if we say it's unique and thereby special.  :laugh:

sadly, it's not like that everywhere - i live in an inner cityscape, which is nasty.  one of the few reasons i can cope with the shithole i live in is that there's a huge park a couple of minutes walk away, and the real countryside is only a short drive/bus (although i try not to drive, obviously).

I do know how good I have it. the conurbation in which I live is all contrasts - the valleys are packed with decaying former mill/industrial towns, the cities are as Lucifer says utter shitholes, and the fells and moors above are glorious. I live in a twat-infested, rundown craphole, but three or four miles away I can have the tops almost to myself.

He's very right.  Within about ten or fifteen miles I could either be in glorious countryside and the lovely fells and forest that lie within or a smouldering, festering shithole.  Fortunately I live in a very nice area.  :)
