I can find New York, LA, Chicago, and New Orleans, what else is there to know? </Yank attitude ... for now>

Who is this guy

John Howard

I figured there was a joke or trick question here, somewhere. Waiting for a punchline.

No. It relates to the little video clip above.

Yes, Bohemia is the mainland of the Czech Republic. When this glass was manufactured, it was part of Czechoslovakia. Slovakia ceded from Czechoslovakia through referendum on January 1th 1993. For most of it's existence, Bohemia has been part of the German Empire, though. The last time was 1939-45. Czechoslovakia existed from 1918-39 and from 1945-92. The Czech Republic now consists of Bohemia, Moravia and a small part of Silesia. (Yes, geography is one of my obsessions.)  :plus:

The former Czechsolvakia was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, not the German Empire.

I assumed that he meant the HRE.

I did. Though in Sweden we usually use the term "German Empire" even for the HRE.

Swedish television interviewed people in NYC about the European Union a couple of years ago. Not one of the interviewed had an idea about was the European Union was. Though I'm not sure that it wasn't set up that way. Most Swedish journalists are leftists and usually try to ridicule America whenever they can.

OK. Funny. Do the journalists in Australia do that, too? (not a question)

Geography is my third worst subject.  Right behind numbers and names.
And as always, these are simply my worthless opinions.
Reverence is fine, Sanctity is silly.
We're all fucked, it helps to remember that.
