Well my mobility ain't fantastic. Well I'm on crutches right now and can't wear a shoe but its getting better pretty quick. Just don't expect me to run for it without collapsing in a heap afterwards and it'll be all well and good.

In my case, it's a progressive condition, so I can;'t anticipate it getting better (though it does get much better during the warm summer months)
I can't drive (I'd  be dangerous, due to disco-ordination absences , and total inability to multi-task); can't use a powered wheelchair (same reason) so this puts me in the totally embarrassing position of depending on others. In effect, i rarely go out. That helps me maintain my comfy illusion of indepedance; besides I don't have that much help available.

I can walk,  but not further than about 100 yards (variable depending on fatigue, weather etc) without messing up my brain to the point of having seizures.  Somewhat awkward, hmm? especially given a social event where I'd rather keep hold of my brain.

Upshot (wrt meetings ) is that I likely won't be able to mnake a single one without enlisting the help of my RL Aspie friend, who nervously lurks here. He's up for a meet-up, but I can see people objecting to a lurker being present. Indeed, i think one already did object (if I understood her right) .

My thinking on that is that surely nobody would mind a carer being present, where appropriate ? BUt TBH, he isn't a carer, he's a friend and I hope he'd want to fully participate. (I wouldn't have the cheek to suggest it to him otherwise )That doesn't alter the fact that he'd effectively be doubling  as a carer though. And I'd have to substitute somebody else (who might not even exist) if that's not OK.

Well, There ya go. That's my position.

Walkie :)

In my case its fucked up hips and a knee that likes to give me constant pain and occasionally, once in a while, randomly lock itself or collapse on me. Thankfully that got less frequent, still hurts like a bugger though. Can deal with it effectively enough but its no fun. Right now its busy burning like hell around the knee . Tendonitis blows ass.

If I were really Queen Victoria and wasn't dead, I'd offer Buckingham Palace.

[EDIT: Ahhh, it;'s from the League of Gentlemen.]

The most accurate documentary ever made about life in the Pennines.

Why yes. yes it is.  :CanofWorms:

Settle's a nice little town, Skipton too. Way out of my price range but very nice. I used to love walking in the dales as well as the South Pennines and northern end of the Peak District when I got chance, still working on regaining my fitness though.

Ripon's another nice little place CBC, with some interesting buildings. The surrounding countryside is pleasant too.

Thank you!  I want to visit there one day.  :)

I'd make the trip to london for that, even from up here, to meet our most distinguished regent and lovely heir.

I do hope it is not considered rude for a bloody commoner to fancy the christicles off of, or to use the term 'fox' regarding royal heirs ^_^

(this bloody commoner however is far less interested in what the bloody ponce in the pope hat thinks about the term 'christicles' however, or being excommunicunted)

In the above case it could perhaps best be considered an amalgam of most or all of the given definitions.

Primarily however, an exclamation of upon seeing the person spoken of, my newfound capacity to both tie my trachea into my shoelaces, the potential for replacement of toenail clippers with teeth, and the observation of a bipedal, mammalian mydriatic agent that would in the capacity both of inotropic action upon the myocardium, mydriasis of the pupillary body and, indeed in sufficient case of exposure, to drive one quite round the twist.

And, put succinctly 'god...just..godjesus H fucking DAMN :o  :autism:

Oh hell yes I would! and what is more, I would stay.

I grew up in Yorkshire (Leeds, Armley), but I live in Worcestershire - about 15 miles south of the centre of Birmingham.

And I cannot believe I've just read a thread in which people are talking about voluntarily going to Nottingham.  FFS.  I've been there once and that was enough.
