Fake Craig's list add
« on: August 29, 2015, 02:02:47 PM »
I saw the add yesterday when looking for estate sales to go to today, it looked great  'Over 50 years of accumulation, tin toys, tools, antiques  ect. '  it started at 7am early birds welcome and it gave a street name and two cross streets the house was between which is normal people don't always want the exact address known before the day to avoid problems.  I figured it would be a mad house when they first opened and headed over around 8 and stopped at another on the way where I hear it was a hoax and how the cops where  were there at 6 giving everyone parked on the street and waiting  tickets.  A lot of the dealers that go to these things are pushy and not very nice  it serves them right getting there so early :hahaha:  I drove by about 830 and there was no sale on the street and the  add was down by the time I got home.

I try to avoid anything like that listed on Craigslist.

Not so much because it might turn out to be fake, but because Craigslist brings them in droves and it usually turns out to be a madhouse. :zombiefuck:

I go to some of them but almost never when they open because of the hoards,  if I drive by and there are too many people I'll either not go or come back latter

Craigslist is crazy! One person posted they wanted a loan of several tens of thousands of dollars. Another person wanted to borrow a bird for a film. Another wanted someone to write a song for their band for free and I think without getting any credit.

There are some great deals on Craig's list but as you said it's a crazy place and finding those deals involves a lot of wading through the crazies
