I don't want to give up caffeine. Why should I?

If you don't want to, you shouldn't.

Between the stress in my life right now and the caffeine (4+ cups a day) it was either try a lifestyle change or go on bp meds...I tried the first...it lowered dramatically.

The stress I can't change...unless I get rid of my family.  :apondering:

Speak for yourselves.  I was sent down from heaven by God and then my parents drove to the hospital to get me.  :M

My mother and I never really had  "the talk."  She explained menstruation in so little detail that I didn't fully
understand the source of the bleeding till I stumbled upon a passage about it in a Harriet The Spy book.
I learned about my period with the help of a fictional 12-year-old girl.   And I really did believe God beamed me
down to the hospital Star Trek style, and all I was allowed to read about s-e-x was in a prissy book by James Dobson,
who my mother approved of because she thought he was Catholic.  If she'd known he was a fundamentalist Protestant,
I probably wouldn't have been allowed to read that either.  Fortunately my unpopularity kept me out of trouble.  :nerdy:

"Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret"...I think that was mine, all my friends were reading it, so I just followed suit. I think my mother was relieved.

My mom did the birds and the bees, but kind of skimmed over stuff...most of the other stuff I learned about from the older girls that smoked in the bathroom.

Surprisingly enough Mom was decades ahead of her time.  She had the talk with me when I was about 10 or so (good thing because not too long afterwards I started my menses.)  She also gave me a pamphlet put out by Kotex.

The sex talk later on was a little sketchy, but I'd already read all Dad's Stag, Male, porn books by then, so it wasn't a big deal.
