The neighbors across the street are having their siding and front steps replaced,  last week they had their roof done.

I live across the street from an elementary school, so it can get kinda loud sometimes.

We've had peace for two days, now. Well rain today, much needed.
But the city crews have been here for three weeks doing stuff to unlevel sidewalks, broken drains, handicap entry way to every corner and finally re-doing the entire street surfaces.

It's finally over!

Peace.

The work on the house across the street stopped due to rain

There's been a dog howling nearby for the past two hours. Its owners must have left it at home while they went out. Its howls are really mournful.

I did that, too. The grass did not need mowing, but the leaves were pretty much covering everything.
I took out my mulching mower and now all the leaves are tiny pieces below the blades of the grass.

Funny thing is the thing that inspired me to mow yesterday was hearing, watching a little of the struggle and feeling sorry for another neighbor two doors down, across the street.

His work paid off! His yard looked great last night about sundown after his five or six hour ordeal.
I had early stuff to do, but when I came home at around 10AM, his yard was covered in leaves again.
I kind of feel sorry for him.

This old guy desperately needs a modern mulching mower!

I still do not even own a leaf rake. I won't need one.
