There was a little bit of rain this morning.. but as the day moved on the clouds disappeared and it became hot, humid and shitty like it was the day before. I frikkin' hate this weather.

Should visit the coast soon and seek some coolness there.

You  had rain?

We had an hour of wind. Very nice. It did cool off because of that. But, it's sticky, due to the humidity going up.

That is some hell of a thunderstorm. It has been going on for 14 hours now, although it is a few kilometers away.

Now you are online though. So, electricity stayed unharmed, or is restored again.

Do you often have problems with electricity, in thunderstorms? And is it common for thunderstorms to last this long? Do they bounce back and forth over your head?

The only long lasting thunderstorms I experienced were bouncing back and forth between higher ridges (can't call them hills) and a river.

A friend of mine lived at a very weak spot in the electricity network. Losing power was default, during a thunderstorm. One or two strikes of lightning was enough.

We were in the middle of one last night. It was one of the coolest thunderstorms I have witnessed.

A friend of mine lived at a very weak spot in the electricity network. Losing power was default, during a thunderstorm. One or two strikes of lightning was enough.

The cables are still above the ground here, so every time there is a (thunder)storm the electricity might go out. It happens at least half a dozen times a year.

We usually have two or three big thunderstorms every summer. Every second or third year there is a really big one, like this, or even worse. This house (the older part; most of it didn't exist back then) was hit by lightning in 1971, when I was just 6 months old. No one was hurt except that a neighbour fainted.

Most thunderstorms are small and pass very quickly. Big ones like this tend to bounce around for hours and hours, though.

Did the neighbour hit her head when she fell? :P

The thunderstorms tend to circle our house but they are almost never directly above it because we are surrounded by hills.

Somehow we have years with a lot, and years with hardly any thunderstorms. As if the first thunderstorms of the year make trails for the others to follow. What waters to cross and what not.
This year I can't recall a thunderstorm. Only a few distant thunders.
The weather radar showed a pretty thick one not 10 km away from here though. They've had more of those this year.

We had one in early March, which is very unusual here.

Yes, a tiny bit. A tadski, one could say. I had to adjust the angle of my velux window at (?) eight in the morning so I wouldn't go wet.. in the bed under that window. (ooh lah lah  /sørry)

Still impatiently awaiting a proper thunderstorm though.

I once heard someone say that winter lightnings are more likely to touch earth, and the majority of summer lightnings is between clouds. Don't know if that is true.
