18°F (-8°C).  Big snow last night which made for very slow driving to school.  We were about two hours later than usual.

Sunny but cold.

Ditto, like hell!

It is sunny, looks inviting, high pressure, clear, deep blue skies, and (when I looked out at my deck thermometer, an hour ago) it was negative two degrees Fahrenheit (-18.8C). I call that cold as unwanted fuck!!

That is cold. It's been a while since we had that kind of cold here.

When I was a kid, temperatures around -25C were not uncommon in the middle of winter. That was in Finland and way up north, but still...

19C, rather windy right now.
Existence actually has two broad meanings despite its apparent meaningless. The constant reconciliation of all its parts, and the conservation of any closed system as a whole.

Morality can be extrapolated from these meanings to make these two commandments of godless morality: 1). Be in harmony with one another and 2). Care for the environment.

It's not unusual here in January. This morning was negative fourteen Fahrenheit (-25.5C, notice that I bought a new thermometer that shows both gradients) and I gave up the idea of a morning jaunt.  :D

It is ten or more degrees colder in Minnesota. I feel for the southerners, though - Houston = twenty seven degrees Fahrenheit, New Orleans = twenty three degrees Fahrenheit  (those cities are on the Gulf Coast, FFS!), Atlanta = Zero degrees Fahrenheit.

We are at least geared up for this, as much as we "hate it."

Their systems will likely fail in these temperatures. There will be people with no electricity!
