That is cold. It's been a while since we had that kind of cold here.
When I was a kid, temperatures around -25C were not uncommon in the middle of winter. That was in Finland and way up north, but still...
It's not unusual here in January. This morning was negative fourteen Fahrenheit (-25.5C, notice that I bought a new thermometer that shows both gradients) and I gave up the idea of a morning jaunt.
It is ten or more degrees colder in Minnesota. I feel for the southerners, though - Houston = twenty seven degrees Fahrenheit, New Orleans = twenty three degrees Fahrenheit (those cities are on the Gulf Coast, FFS!), Atlanta = Zero degrees Fahrenheit.
We are at least geared up for this, as much as we "hate it."
Their systems will likely fail in these temperatures. There will be people with no electricity!
