 A BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM EST THURSDAY.

SNOWFALL TOTALS WILL RANGE FROM 8 TO 12 INCHES ALONG THE COAST AND 16 TO 24 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS THROUGH LATE TONIGHT. SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WILL MIX WITH THE SNOW AT TIMES NEAR THE COAST. A THUNDERSTORM IS ALSO POSSIBLE.

EAST TO NORTHEAST WINDS WILL GUST TO 40 MPH AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY ALONG THE IMMEDIATE COAST AND IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN. THE HEAVY SNOWFALL COMBINED WITH BLOWING SNOW WILL RESULT IN BLIZZARD CONDITIONS FROM LATER THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE LATE EVENING HOURS. THIS WILL CAUSE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS.

POWER OUTAGES MAY ALSO OCCUR DUE TO THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS AND HEAVY ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW ON POWER LINES AND TREE LIMBS

9AM and currently 22C, predicted to be 36C today, 35C on Friday, 35C on Saturday and 37C on Sunday.

Some parts of NY state have gotten 12 feet of snow over the last month.  The town near my inlaws got 38 inches out of the last storm.  We got 20-24 inches!

Rapid City broke a record -21F last night breaking from 1979 when it was -14F.

We've had very little snow, but then we never get it in the quantities you lot seem to.

This is how it should look like at this time of the year. The picture is from the 19th of February 2003. All white and light grey areas are covered with snow. All of Sweden except a small part between the country's greatest lakes, Vänern and Vättern, is covered with snow, like all of Norway, Finland, Estonia and Latvia, as can also be seen on the pic. The northern tip of Denmark, darkish brown on the pic, is without snow, though.
