Upper 20's Fahrenheit, (-3 Celsius) but the sun is shining.

My husband came home from Russia last night and we went snow sledding this morning.

Pretty much bullshit weatther.

Cold.

About eight inches of snow today. Winds gusting in the forty mile range, drifting snow.

Young Sam: But Dad said the monsters under my bed weren't real.
Young Dean: That's 'cause he'd already checked under there. But, yeah, they're real. Almost everything's real.
Young Sam: Is Santa real?
Young Dean: No

Waggy was a bit puzzled this morning when she found that the containers she likes to drink from were covered with ice.  She scratched at it with her paw until I made a hole for her.

We got that, too, but not as much snow.

We had snow, then rain, then very cold, then more snow.

I made the mistake of parking under a huge cloth banner at work. It was dark when I got there and I didn't think to look up. During the sleet/rain stuff, the banner would become heavily covered and the wind would shake loose giant daggers of ice to crash down into the snow that was already on my car. It was like reinforcing concrete with steel. I should have been able to brush off most of the snow, scrape a little ice and be done, but not that shit. It took getting the engine and windshield warm enough to remove it in huge chunks. I miss the subtropics.

Warmer, twenty two, but it is the sky that was amazing this morning. Sunrise was really colourful from ice crystals in the air. It was like some peevish kid had taken a squirt-bottle with rainbows in it, shaken it up and sprayed it along the rows of clouds.

It only lasted about six or eight minutes, though.
