What did you have the line in for?

I can't taste saline on its own, but the bitter taste of gear is pretty distinct.

I don't mind it though, actually more the opposite, triggers those mental associations between input, onset and pleasure.

Had a nasty experience once though, with the sedative I take to prevent seizures, chlormethiazole. Its a sulfur containing critter, and seemingly in certain circumstances can get transformed into something like a thiol (old name, mercaptan, related to the stuff used to stench gas lines. Horrendously potent stenches usually) or maybe thioketone.

God that was horrendous. I could taste it, I was sweating said metabolite, pissing it, even coming out from the mucous membranes of my nasal passages. Direct delivery of abominable sygian reek, right up one's nose. Lovely.

Even had to scrap a fleece coat and a leather belt, and remain in the same clothes for the duration, until it worked its way out completely, because anything worn, that got touched was left with a potent and absolutely unmentionable stench

ugh...for similar -albeit less potent- reasons I dislike garlic and onions.

I had the pic line for anti-biotics from when my appendix ruptured and resealed itself. the docs opted to have me wait for the irritation go down before operating a month after it ruptured.
Can't you guys even just imagine it?

Forget practicality, or your experience....can you just....imagine?

It's there. It always was.

Nothing right now, I hope I'm not losing my sense of smell as my father did.
He couldn't smell much of anything for the last 10-15 years of his life, and without
his sense of smell, he couldn't taste much of anything either.  I'd hate to lose weight that way.  :thumbdn:

Heh, if you think onions/garlic are bad, try durian fruit for size.

Illegal on public aircraft due to the abominable stench durian gives off. Bought some once from a chinese grocery store, and couldn't eat it, I managed one bite before gagging and nearly throwing up. And the stench carries for quite some distance too. In my college days, me and a friend of mine took exception once to the way that this one particular old hag of a 'tutor' had been whaling on another girl there, who by all accounts, wouldn't hurt a fly, this bitch kept verbally abusing the girl, humiliating her, until she had been reduced to tears. So me and this other lass, decided to make use of the durian, since it wasn't ever going to be eaten, a chunk went in a wastepaper bin, the rest got taken into the toilets on the buildings ground floor and thrown up into the crawlspaces and air vents above the ceiling. The result was pungent enough to force evacuation of the entire building for a suspected gas leak (although I'd like to know how exactly somewhere with no connection to a gas supply could manage a gas leak.

It had the desired effect though, got the entire class the rest of the day off :D

I can smell my lotion, at least.  Later, at work, I will smell Sunday dinner cooking.  8)

Acetone I had used it earlier to take some stickers off my sons door and the smell is lingering

Yesterday my bathroom and bedroom smelled like stale weed smoke from the neighbor. :thumbdn:

So I sprayed air freshener around, and then I smelled sweet chemical smells.  Better, sort of.  :zoinks:

I use a lot of Lysol these days.  Sometimes, after spraying it around, I can almost taste it.  :zombiefuck:

Eight-month-old tuna that Kayleigh had a container of in her room. We had to air out the house.

Oh dear god.  Tuna smells bad enough when it's fresh!

I suddeenly smell something delicious being cooked elsewhere in the building.  It reminds me of the
smells coming from the steam tables in my middle-school cafeteria, vaguely beefy, now I'm hungry!  :2thumbsup:

I can still smell the heating oil on my hands from tinkering with the furnace a couple hours ago even though I have washed them three times
