Reminds me of a skit with the Irish comedian Dave Allen (I think it was him, anyway). He had a violinist guest at one point, and they were talking about the guest's instrument, a priceless Stradivarius, of the beautiful handiwork and the unique sound, and how much the instrument was worth.

After some discussion Allen moved on to the next topic... and sat down on the Stradivarius.

There was an episode of the Three Stooges like that.  I think it was Larry who was torn between comedy and a career in music.  They smashed his Stradivarius in a sketch. Solves that problem!

It felt like an accident but I'm pretty sure it wasn't. I played the violin throughout my childhood and cringed when watching the skit.
