I do both respond well to and seek this out in others that i am close with. I am of course mindful of social etiquette but if others petted me I would not mind. I would not mind doing this to others.
as it is, people that know me, know I am very touchy feelly, not in a creepy way or anything. They don't mind. my boy is exactly the same way and we are trying to teach him more restraint as he is older.

Mate to be honest, I don't mind being un-aspie like in this respect. I am happy just to be a big spaz in other ways.
My NT mates actually used to explain a lot of this kind of stuff to others (even before I let them know I was on the spectrum) by just saying to others "That is Ross, that is just what he does"

I don't think its aspie like to bite someone's hand for being too close to your face. That's just a lance thing lmao. I hate being touched around the head and shoulders. Face? You might lose a finger.

I never bit anyone but I have smacked my fair share of people who have gotten to close of touched me.  I tell people I like my distance and that if I can smack them in the head they are too close.

I got rubbed and petted at work today. I nearly purred.

I need my physical fix. I know more aspies who like it. And, who as kids have to learn to keep the right distance from people.
